Instruction on labor protection: target and primary - what's the difference?

Standard procedures with personnel in any organization - this is a reception, translation, dismissal. Each of these actions requires special attention from management. One such process is the instruction of employees.

Instruction: concept and types

Conducting health and safety briefings is necessary for both the organization and its employees. It does not matter in what form it is conducted. Familiarization with the rules of conduct and safety in the workplace is the goal of any briefing.

By the time of the meeting and the nature there is a briefing on labor protection:

  • Target;
  • primary;
  • repeated;
  • Unplanned;
  • introductory.

Each of these species has its own goals and reasons for carrying out, but the result is one - quality and safe work. That is why every employee is instructed on labor protection.

Target, for example, has much in common with other species, but it is narrowly focused and is used only for a specific employee of the enterprise. A primary instruction on labor protection is very similar to the introductory, although it has many differences. A more detailed consideration of these two types can be found below.

Initial briefing

It is held with each new employee before he takes up his duties. Unlike the introductory, it covers a narrower direction, namely, the direct work of the employee.

It can look like a step-by-step instruction for using the workplace. The most detailed description of all steps and actions is given. Here it can also be indicated how to behave in the event of a deviation from the normal course of the working day (for example, when electricity is cut off or equipment is broken).

Its result is knowledge of the worker about possible dangers and how to avoid them. As a result, both the employee and the management receive high-quality and safe labor.

It is conducted by the head of the unit or by immediate superiors who have the right to instruct the employees of the organization.

Instruction on labor protection: target

The name speaks for itself. This kind is carried out at the appearance of a certain goal. One of them is a one-time execution of any work that the employee has not previously done. In this case, he explains in detail (as in the initial briefing) all the functions and actions that he needs to perform, as well as security measures in the temporary workplace.

This type of work can be more dangerous or require more skill and experience of the performer. Therefore, without targeted instruction, the employee should not be allowed to perform the task. This can lead to unforeseen consequences, the most insignificant of them will be defective products and loss of profits.

Such an instruction is not conducted by a labor protection specialist, but by those who directly encountered the proposed type of work. In this role can act as teachers, foremen or foremen, etc. It is workers who have enough knowledge and experience in the required field, can explain all the subtleties and warn against dangers.

Instructions are all important

Regardless of age, scope and size of the company, it is necessary to instruct employees. You must conduct every instruction on labor protection (target, introductory or other), depending on the case when it is applied. This will help increase the safety of employees, enhance the reputation of the company and avoid problems with the law.

It is also necessary to remember the timely introduction of changes and unplanned instruction of employees when changing equipment, developing production and adopting new norms or laws.
