Installation of self-heating boilers: general installation and configuration

Installation of heating boilers quite often today, homeowners help solve the problem of hot water supply, as well as the lack of central heating. For this you can purchase one of two types of boilers, namely a two-circuit or single-circuit boiler. In the latter case, the equipment provides only one of the possible processes, it may be possible to use heating.

If it is a two-loop boiler, the owners of the house can also use hot water. To install the boiler will require the presence of certain skills and knowledge. The master will have to comply with the norms for installing such equipment. The operation of any gas appliance is fraught with risks, so you must strictly follow the rules of fire safety.

Installation Rules

Installation of heating boilers can be made only after the conclusion of a contract for the supply of natural gas. The design of the facility should be agreed upon, as far as the technical conditions are concerned. These issues should be resolved with representatives of the gas service. The license is used to develop project documentation. The installation work should be carried out by the specialists of the installation company. The heating system is pressurized to a value of 1.8 atmospheres, after the system is de-aerated, the connections are checked for leaks. The boiler operates with a voltage regulator. In no case should it be allowed that the antifreeze mixes with the hot water, as this can cause the gaskets to be damaged. Eventually, you will run into leaks in the heating system.

Requirements for combustion

Before installing the heating boilers, you must ensure that the room meets certain standards and requirements. If you live in a private house, the boiler room or furnace room can be located on any floor, it can be a basement, an attic, a subterranean space or a socle. Restrictions apply to premises that have a residential purpose. Among other things, it is forbidden to place equipment in a bathroom and bathroom.

Installation of heating boilers should be carried out after calculating the volume of the room, which takes into account the thermal capacity of the equipment, as well as water heaters of any type. Thus, if the total heat output does not exceed 30 kilowatts, the room volume may be 7.5 m 3 . If the first figure increases to 60 kilowatts, then the volume of the room should be 13.5 m 3 . At a heat output of 60 to 200 kilowatts, the volume of the furnace room should be increased to 15 cubic meters.

For reference

If you decide to install gas heating boilers, you should be aware of the existence of some exceptions. They consist in the fact that the boiler can have a closed combustion chamber. In this case, the room volume of the boiler room is not normalized, there may not be a window in the room with an outlet to the outside.

Ventilation

For air intake and discharge, a ventilation system must be provided. If you purchased a boiler with an indicator of 23.3 kilowatts, then 2.5 m 3 of gas will leave within an hour. For a non-sufficient combustion of this volume, 30 m 3 of air per hour is required. If there is not enough oxygen, the gas will not burn completely, this will cause the formation and accumulation of a harmful substance, its breathing can have a very negative impact on the human condition.

If gas enters the lungs within 15 minutes, death may occur. This indicates the need for air to penetrate from outside and from other rooms. This can be provided by the presence of a gap, it should be located in the gap between the floor surface and the door leaf. Replace what gap can be a grille in the door. Installation of heating boilers at home is carried out at a distance of 10 centimeters from the wall, its surface should be made of non-combustible material. If this is not found, then it is necessary to install protection based on refractory material.

Features of installation work

It is important to take into account that special requirements are imposed on the area of the room where the boiler will be located. This figure should not be less than 4 m 2 , with ceilings should be above 2.5 m. When designing the room, it should be taken into account that the width of the door that leads to the boiler room should be 80 cm or more. When installing heating boilers in a private house, you must install the equipment in such a way that it is illuminated through the opening in a natural way. For every 10 m 2 of the room there should be about 0.3 square meters of the window. The room should be well ventilated, this is because the combustion of gas is provided by the constant supply of fresh air. The area of the opening for oxygen supply should be equal to 8 centimeters square per kilowatt of the unit's power.

Requirements for the gas pipeline and chimney

When installing boilers and heating systems, it is important to consider that the piping elements of the gas pipeline system must be made exclusively of metal. The use of flexible hoses is permissible only when there is a need to connect individual consumers. When selecting the section of the chimney, it should be taken into account that it must correspond to the power of the installation. If this figure is equivalent to 30 kilowatts, then the diameter should be 130 millimeters. If the power increases to 40 kilowatts, the diameter of the chimney is 170 millimeters. The smaller sectional area of the flue is inadmissible with respect to the section of the flue opening . The topmost end of this node should be positioned 0.5 meters above the ridge.

Features of installing a wall gas boiler

If you install the boiler yourself, then you must consider what equipment is in front of you - wall or floor. If it is a question of the first variant, it will allow the master to equip an independent heating system even in that house which is supplied with the central heating. Such equipment is not too demanding for a free space, it can be installed even over other devices that are on the floor. That is why wall-mounted boilers are often installed in a cascade. This is very convenient if there is a need for high power.

Installation of such a boiler should be carried out, separating it by 20 centimeters from other devices and inflammable materials. Taking into account the model and capacity of the boiler, it is necessary to determine the distance between it and the wall surface, this parameter can vary from 30 to 50 cm. Specialists do not advise having the unit for heating a private house in the gap between the walls, it is inadmissible to mount in close proximity to the window .

Advice from a specialist

Before starting the work, you should definitely study the boiler installation diagram, this will eliminate many mistakes. Once the location has been selected, the boiler must be checked for equipment. Before installation, all the boiler pipes are washed with water, as well as the pipes of the heating system. This will eliminate foreign particles that could get inside the equipment during the assembly process. The base on which the unit is intended to be installed must be removed from the floor by 0.8 meters. This indicator is minimal. The wall should be as flat as possible and strong enough to undergo weight devices and related devices. In the presence of a surface of combustible material to the base, it is necessary to fix a gasket of non-combustible material, the thickness of which should be 3 millimeters or more. In this case, the unit is strengthened at a distance of 4.5 centimeters from the wall.

Conclusion

In order to prevent clogging of the heat exchanger of the equipment, it is recommended to mount a corner strainer at the inlet of the heat carrier , on both sides of which ball valves are installed. This simplifies further maintenance and repair work.
