Tesla Model X, or the technology of the future today

Tesla Motors is an extraordinary American automotive company, the only one of its kind. The company's business card is new computer technologies and the latest developments in the field of technology. Tesla Motors - the brainchild of Google's founders: Larry Page and Sergey Brin. They believe that the future of electric vehicles, so the company began to develop only electric vehicles.

A start

The first company of the company was Tesla Roadster. Experts immediately stated that the car is waiting for failure, but he managed not just to "survive", but also to become the world's first mass electric vehicle. Despite the huge price for American measures, he found his buyer. Electrified miniature Lotus, at a cost twice the Porshe Cayenne, found understanding among Americans concerned about the environment. Even Arnold Schwarzenegger, governor of California, spoke positively about the car. Nothing strange, as anyone, no matter how, to know about the deplorable ecological condition of California.

Following the roadster, the company launched the elevator model S. It was on its platform that the "sensational" model of Tesla Motors - Model X was built.

In the domestic market

The first "Eski" appeared on our roads in 2013, before the start of official sales. It is necessary to be in many ways a supporter of "green" technologies, in order to purchase such a car, as there are no service stations or spare parts for us yet. Even charging the car takes about a day, because it is designed for US voltage of 110 watts. The solution to this problem has not yet been found.

If there is a whole network of free and fast charging stations in the US, then we do not have them at all. It's also not entirely clear how fast the Tesla Model X will be discharged into the minus temperature.

Exterior

In the shape of the car there are no futuristic elements: it in many ways resembles Aston Martin and even Mazda. This is because the designer of the car Franz Holzhauser, who completed the work of Henrik Fisker, moved to Tesla Motors from Mazda.

Compared to their counterparts, the electric Tesla Model X is simply huge - about 5 meters in length. Calling a car a hatchback does not turn the tongue, rather it's a coupe.

Interior

The car is very roomy. Under the rear door there is an internal luggage compartment where you can transport two small children: two pull-out seats are provided for this. In front, under the hood, where the usual cars have an engine, this car is empty. About 150 liters of volume serve as a good addition to the trunk of the Tesla Model X.

The traditional petrol engine here replaces the lithium-ion battery pack of Panassonic. They just make up the heaviest part of the power plant. To it are attached stretchers with a double-wishbone suspension in front and a multi-link on the rear.

A compact asynchronous electric motor is located under the rear axle. On top of him put on an aluminum body, inside which there is a lot of free space. The developers of the model are working on the all-wheel drive version of the "Eski". To do this, they plan to install a second electric motor in the empty space for the front axle, which can only reduce the volume of the front trunk.

The lack of cardans and a standard exhaust system in the Tesla Model X made it possible to make the floor under the passengers' feet even. It should be noted that the battery compartment significantly reduces the height, in connection with which there is some discomfort in the rear rows: the space above the heads is clearly not enough. Despite this, the legroom for passengers is enough with a stock, and the sofa in the cabin is fully triple. For the sake of this, the central armrest with the cup holders was removed from behind. The spaciousness underscores the superiority of the conventional cars of the electric car Tesla Model X. The salon photo is a confirmation of this.

Behind the wheel

The driver's seat is very unusual: around the minimum of buttons, levers. In place of the central tunnel is a huge tray, above which is a 17-inch touch screen, running on a Linux operating system with a Nvidia Tegra processor. The company does not neglect the use of smartphone technologies. Responsiveness of the screen is excellent, to the envy of most automakers.

With the help of the display, the driver can control almost all Tesla Model X systems, namely: the setting of the temperature in the passenger compartment, the inclusion of headlights, steering force adjustment, panoramic roof, level of recovery, air suspension. The latest system is offered as an option. The standard ground clearance is 152 mm, and with the help of a suspension it can be increased by 22-23 mm or reduced by 20 mm. At speeds above 30 km / h the ground clearance automatically returns to the standard position, and at high speeds the suspension will drop by 20 mm.

Characteristics of the Tesla Model X

The acceleration of the electric vehicle is 4.2 seconds to "hundred." The top engine of 310 kW (416 hp) immediately goes to the maximum 600 Nm, and a 2-ton car starts fast. Acceleration of the car is linear, which is very strange for electric vehicles. If you take into account that all this happens in complete silence, then you feel a little strange. Only the roar of rubber and the sound of the head wind are heard. The maximum speed of the Tesla Model X is only 210 km / h, which is explained by the specific operation of the electric motor.

Recuperation after gas discharge is quite sharp, but it can be adjusted. Compared with other electric vehicles, intensive accelerations on the "esque" do not reduce the power reserve by 10-20 km. The official power reserve with a battery capacity of 85 kW / h is 265 miles (427 km). Using climate control and driving at high speeds will reduce it to 200 km, which is also not bad at all.
