Il Forno restaurant chain: addresses, description, reviews

Simple, but at the same time, refined Italian cuisine has always been close to the Russian soul, and more precisely - the stomach (after all, this is certainly the shortest path to the heart). The role is played both by the traditional menu, and simply by associations, because Italy is the sun, wine, positive, fun. That is why Moscow is full of different institutions (restaurants, bars and cafes), which in their own way beat this theme.

The competition among such places of rest is just crazy, especially in the center of the capital. Some of them are literally in the neighborhood, others - just on the opposite side of the street. By the way, it is convenient for visitors: if there are no empty seats or something did not suit in one of the establishments, and you do not want to refuse the gastronomic plans, then you can just cross the road.

"Il Forno" (Moscow): location

It is a network of 4 restaurants, three of which are in the Russian capital, and one in Astana. In Moscow these institutions are located in important places. The first of the restaurants "registered" in the historical center of the capital on Neglinnaya street, 8/10, the second took root in Ostozhenka, 3/14 - one of the most expensive streets of Moscow, and the third is in front of the hotel "Ukraine" on Kutuzovsky Prospekt, 2/1.

Institution on Neglinnoy

The location is more than successful, because this street is the center of the tourist route. Accordingly, there are many foreigners.

The restaurant in Meshchansky district is ready to serve customers from 8 am from Monday to Friday, and on Saturday and Sunday - from 11:00. Every day the work ends at midnight. In Il Forno there are two halls that are located on the first and second floors: the bottom holds 35 people, the upper one can take 60.

Greens in bright red pots in front of the entrance as if inviting to go inside. The institution looks very cozy, especially in the evening outside with a glass door and plenty of light inside.

As for the interior, in this case the form perfectly matches the content and emphasizes the charm of Italian gourmet cuisine. Large windows, comfortable furniture in light colors immediately set on a major harmony. From the square colored cushions, cheerful pictures on gastronomic themes, it simply shows positive. Solid wooden tables are not burdened with tablecloths. A lot of spices in transparent containers adorn the bar counter. Also wonderful is the wine theme: on the shelves along the walls are bottles of dark glass. Pictures and photographs that depict pasta or pizza overtake appetite. Creative yellow oval lamps fill the room with warmth and cordiality. There is no extra pomposity, but there is a refined simplicity.

Restaurant "Il Forno" on Ostozhenka

The schedule of work is the same as that of his "colleague" on Neglinnaya. Unlike other nearby restaurants, which usually open their doors only by 11:00, you can have a delicious and hearty breakfast, thereby setting yourself up for a positive on the eve of a busy day, which makes a lot of regular customers.

True, this Italian restaurant in the center of Moscow is slightly more spacious than the other two: both halls are designed for 110 seats.

The interior here is almost the same as on the Meshchanka. But since the halls are larger in size, many visitors seem less comfortable, and they prefer to spend time on Neglinnaya.

Establishment on Kutuzovsky

This restaurant-pizzeria starts its work at 11:00, and finishes at midnight. Its capacity is 95 people. At the rush hour guests can be planted on the summer playground.

The local interior is more restrained than at Ostozhenka or Neglinnaya. Here the same pastel colors predominate, but with the dominance of cappuccino color in the upholstery of furniture and in imitations of brickwork on the wall. In the same range, columns and a stove are tiled with tiles.

Concept

The institution positions itself as a restaurant-pizzeria, as the sign says. Of course, this place fully corresponds to the claimed name. The creators of the institution wanted to combine the chic of the restaurant with the democracy of the pizzeria. And they succeeded. There are no extra pathos and glamor, but there is no hint of cheapness either. Therefore, the institution is also suitable for business lunches, and for evening gatherings by a noisy company of friends. And family celebrations with children on weekends will be unforgettable.

There is absolutely everything that contributes to success and popularity in the gastronomic field: a delicious and satisfying national menu in authoring, a cozy atmosphere created by modern design and relaxing Italian music of the sixties, virtuoso cooks who prepare their masterpieces in front of clients. Italian restaurants in Moscow, whose rating is quite high, do not always boast the presence of a stove on wood, and here it is the nail of the program. Here for an hour or two you can distract yourself from the rainy Moscow weather and imagine yourself somewhere on the Mediterranean coast.

Chips of the restaurant

Since the competition among such establishments is just off scale, everyone wants to attract visitors with something special, something that others do not. What is the highlight of "Il Forno" against the background of other Italian restaurants? First of all unforgettable culinary and acrobatic show. It is impossible to tear off the view of how the best cook (or, as it is called, pizza-jollo) turns huge circles of dough, diameters reaching one meter, like a feather.

A trip to a restaurant with children will not only be tasty, but also useful. Small guests will be able to learn the basics of the art of working with a test in a small pizza-jollo school: stretch it without a rolling pin, combine different fillings, and serve guests.

Main menu: salads and snacks

As befits an Italian restaurant, without pizza, pasta and risotto is indispensable. Also, separate items in the main menu are salads, side dishes, cold and hot meat snacks, seafood, grilled meat and fish, soups, homemade desserts. All dishes of European cuisine are adapted for the gastronomic preferences of Muscovites and guests of the capital.

The list of salads opens a specialty called IL Forno (it includes a mix of salad, green pepper, red onions, tomatoes, royal olives, cucumbers and homemade sauce). There is also "Caesar" with chicken breast or shrimp to choose from, and "Caprese" with traditional ingredients.

Also often ordered is a Roman salad and a rukkola with tiger shrimps. But for the fans of experiments, cooks have three suggestions. These are warm salads with veal or octopus, as well as tian from crab and avocado. True, they cost almost twice as much as "Caesar" or "Caprese," but they do not come here to save.

The highlight of cold appetizers are Italian antipastas (tomatoes, olives, artichokes, mozzarella, prosciutto), which will unrivaledly decorate the table. They can start not only any meal, but also an introduction to Italian cuisine in general. Also lovers of meat dishes will be pleased with carpaccio with beef or veal to choose from.

In addition to oysters and Sakhalin shrimps, the sea bar will surprise with tar-tar from salmon or tuna and Dorado in different interpretations.

Hot meat and fish snacks are one of the most successful menu items. Tuna fillet with baked pepper, chopped steak with potato cream and truffle, Moroccan chicken with couscous, salmon fillet with vegetables, octopus tentacles in tomato sauce - and this is not a complete list.

You can order grilled fillet of halibut, dorado, sea bass, lamb square, Sakhalin scallops, royal prawns. And all this will be prepared by the best chef.

Soups, pasta, garnishes

Among the first dishes, the most popular is tomato soup with mozzarella.

From the varieties of pasta, the eyes just flutter, and the choice to make is very difficult: here and the usual spaghetti, and tagliatelle, and thalolini, and linguini, and bucatini. Risotto is presented in several positions (with truffle cream, seafood or sun-dried tomatoes).

The garnish is mostly standard (rice, boiled and baked potatoes, grilled vegetables, ceps, stewed spinach, broccoli steamed).

Dessert

Sweet-toasts will be pleased to see such a variety of delicacies in the menu: cheesecake, milfey, honey, Tiramisu, marshmallow, meringue - and this is not the whole pastry list of the confectioners of this institution. Also here you can order a fruit plate and a berry assortment.

Special offers

Breakfasts are closer to the original Russian cuisine: there is an omelette from eggs, and pancakes, and oatmeal, and buckwheat with milk, and syrniki. The same one who wants to feel himself in sunny Italy, can order a toast with veal roast beef or salmon, a croissant with ham, cheese and tomatoes.

This network of restaurants in Moscow offers a children's menu, which is not just useful and varied, but also differs by creative submission. Even the most fastidious customers can not refuse a children's burger with a beef patty, Fish and Chips snacks, tempura shrimp with potato emoticons, chicken shashlik with French fries and cherry tomatoes, penne with broccoli and grana padana.

Also, with a minimum order of 1500 rubles, food delivery through the city is free of charge.

Pizza

She deserves special attention. There are about 20 items on the menu for every taste. Not all the best Italian restaurants in Moscow can boast such a variety. In addition to the traditional "Margarita" and "Neapolitano" in the restaurant, you can order pizza with artichokes, truffles or seafood. "Italy" will like those who love the dominant taste of tomatoes, "Diabolo" - those who are not afraid of the thrill that will ensure the chili. Anyone who wants something unusual, can order "Calzone" - a closed pizza.

Also for fans of unusual combinations of products in "Il Forno" they will offer pizza with pear and gorgonzola, tuna and artichokes, salmon and tomatoes.

The most popular positions are "Four seasons" (tomatoes, mozzarella, ham, mushrooms, olives, peppers, artichokes) and "Giant Mista". Ingredients for the second visitor chooses himself from the proposed options, for example, you can take either grano padano, or salami, etc. And this name is given not in vain: its diameter reaches half a meter, and the filling is distributed unevenly. Each portioned piece is beaten in a special way: one will be laid out salmon with champignons, on the other - olives and ham. So who wants to try different combinations of tastes, can safely order the "Gigante".

In "Il Forno" the famous Mediterranean dish is cooked exclusively in a wood-burning oven, and its taste is fundamentally different from a similar one, but from an oven. An additional offer from the restaurant is pizza, cooked on a rye dough. Each visitor can choose either this option, or traditional. True, rye pizza costs 100 rubles more.

Features of the service

Cold snacks are made from under the knife, so they will need to wait a bit. But Italy is Italy, it teaches us not to hurry and enjoy a measured life. Although these are the features of the preparation, and the staff is very efficient, and even when the apple has no place to fall in the hall, the waiters manage very quickly.

Although the restaurant "Il Forno" is designed for fairly well-to-do customers, it's nice that the staff is not being snobbish to all visitors.

Reviews

It is interesting that if guests talk about the shortcomings of the restaurant, then this does not in any way concern the quality of the food itself. On the contrary, many enthusiastic guests, describing their impressions of the kitchen, use adjectives "amazing", "tasty to the point of insanity," "just delicacy," and others. Particularly praise pizza and pasta, many boldly say that they cook the most delicious in the city.

This place became a landmark for many foreigners, and for those who visited Italy. It allows you to really plunge into the magical world of the Mediterranean. Most grateful guests note that this institution is included in the best Italian restaurants in Moscow. Of course, there is one "but": pricing policy. The average check is 3000 rubles. Although almost all the guests say that it's worth it.

But what they frankly complain about is the tightness: it seems to many that the tables are too tight. However, despite this, the restaurant is almost always crowded, and it is desirable to book a table in advance so that there are no uncomfortable moments. We must also take into account the complexity of parking: the center after all.

So, is it worth to visit "Il Forno"? The answer is unequivocal: by all means. There arose a genuine love for Italy.
