  • After a plentiful flowering, you need to gradually reduce the watering so that the plant enters a period of rest. Before the first frosts (usually in the middle of September), the tubers are excavated with a clod of earth. The remaining stems are cut off, leaving 7-10 cm in length. It is not necessary to clean the roots of the earth. Leaving a layer of soil, tubers can be dried in a cool room with an air temperature of at least +10 degrees. Further processing consists in the fact that the rhizomes along with the soil are placed in boxes, boxes, plastic bags and put in a cellar, a cellar, a heated balcony, where the temperature does not drop below +5 ° C.
  • There is another way how to store cannes. It is suitable for those who do not have the opportunity to clean cannes for storage in cold rooms. In early autumn, green healthy plants are excavated and transferred to pots or flowerpots at home. Do not cut the stems. Bright lighting and sufficient watering in the winter will prolong the flowering of these tropical beauties. True, the reduced light day will slightly weaken the plant.   • The third way how to store cannon in winter, will suit those who have spacious verandas, balconies, cellars, where the air temperature keeps at a level from +12 to +15 degrees. For this, the dug roots are washed from the ground, kept in a solution of potassium permanganate, dried in heat and cleaned in a refrigerator.
