The clematis are very beautiful and effective , leaving them behind is just as important as in the summer, so he needs to pay attention. The curling plant is suitable for the design of an arch or gazebo. Its large flowers have a variety of colors: yellow, purple, white, blue, cherry red and crimson.

In order to determine what to do with clematis in autumn, it is worthwhile to know that the autumn period (like the early spring) is suitable for planting flowers. This plant is undemanding, and it is easy enough to breed it. When purchasing a planting material, one must choose without flaws. Wet roots of seedlings should be with sleeping buds, do not contain rot and thickenings. Not to be mistaken with the variety, it is better to purchase seedlings with flowers. For the severe climate, the early and mid-early blooming varieties of clematis are suitable : Cardinal Rouge, Andre Leroy, Biryuzinka, Hegli Hybrid.

Of the methods of reproduction that are used in the cultivation of this flower, we can mention the division of the root and cuttings of clematis. In the autumn, seedlings are selected for which the root system is well developed. Most suited is the planting material imported to us from Holland, as these varieties bloom later.

For flowers, a sunny area is suitable. In this case, the lower part of the stem and the roots must necessarily remain in the shade. One month before planting flowers, you need to prepare a pit. The earth must be in time to settle. The soil must be loose and nutritious. The flower's well is excavated spacious, its dimensions can be 60 x 60 x 60 centimeters. Root neck should be buried in the ground at a distance of up to eight centimeters.

To safely develop clematis, care in the fall should include proper watering. It should be done moderately, avoid stagnation of water, as this can lead to the death of the flower. Since the plant is curly, it must be supported and protected from the wind. It begins to plentifully blossom in the third or fifth year. Since August, begin to bring under the bushes of nitrogen fertilizers. In September, the turn of phosphorus and potash fertilization begins.

Colds are not afraid of clematis, autumn care nevertheless includes their protection from freezing. You should take care of their pruning. Especially this measure is recommended for varieties that bloom on last year's shoots. The operation allows you to thin the bushes and prepare them for the winter. Those species that bloom only on the stems that have grown during the current year are cut as follows: leave shoots 20-30 cm tall above the ground with 1 or 2 pairs of kidneys.

Plants that bloom on the stems of the current and last year are pruned twice after flowering. In this case, the shoots remove the tops by a third. The remaining lashes are neatly removed from the support and provide shelter for the winter. Use lapnik, sawdust, dry leaves. Above the plants you can build a frame of wooden boxes and cover with a film or roofing material, top to fill up with peat or earth.
