There are cases when it is not advisable to reinstall the operating system, although most ordinary users, and inexperienced service engineers of companies prefer this solution of the problem. The drawbacks of such a solution are quite obvious: the need to install all programs and make customary settings is time, the ability to lose their data through the fault of an inexperienced service engineer (which will perform a quick formatting of the system disk before installation, which can not be done). But in a number of cases, you can manage one or two teams or 10-15 minutes of waiting, and everything will return to normal. This is called system recovery. Standard Windows tools, if you have the appropriate knowledge, you can do quite a lot. Perhaps the most simple tool is the rstrui utility (you can find it in the start menu> all programs> standard> service> system recovery). The fact is that the standard settings of Windows XP / Seven / Vista provide for the preservation of the changes made at regular intervals in the form of so-called recovery points. So, you have a problem - something does not work! Try to press F8 while the system is booted and choose safe mode (safe mode) - it is necessary if the system does not boot in the standard mode. After the system boots, just run rasrui and roll back, choosing the recovery point for the date when the problem was not yet. Another common problem is the boot sector failure. This can be caused by different problems, or we have to talk not about a real failure, but about a defective memory module. In addition, this circumstance may indicate that the computer has become a victim of a virus attack (although this reason is increasingly coming to naught, since modern computer viruses are more focused on making money, rather than destructive activity for the sake of the fun of their creators). But such troubles are easily solved with the help of the recovery console. This is a very simple and effective tool that all IT professionals use to quickly restore the system. But there is nothing abstruse about this. It is enough to install the original Windows distribution in the drive and at a certain stage order the recovery console by clicking the R button (from the word Recovery). An environment will be loaded, the view of which can frighten modern users who never dealt with the command line. You will have to choose the Windows installation with which you want to work, except for this, you will need to type the administrator password. After entering the shell, type help, and the system issues all available commands and, after figuring out, you can start restoring the operating system. 0. Cd is the basic command. Use it to navigate through the directories and view the list of files

1.Dir - displays a list of files in the directory, for example C: \ Windows \ SYSTEM32, where you navigated using the DIR command

2. Expand - unpacks files from the Windows distribution to the specified directory. Used to restore original versions of system files

3. Fixboot - for all failures of the download, be sure to click this command

4. Fixmbr - fixes the master boot record. Often this is the only command that is sufficient to perform system recovery using the Recovery Console.

5. Bootcfg - With this command, you can restore and configure the boot.ini file needed to load

6. Listsvc - displays a list of services that are loaded into the computer memory when starting Windwos and the conditions of their loading (automatically or manually)

7. Disable - disables the service from the list

8. Enable - performs the opposite function

Chkdsk - if your file system is corrupted, it can lead to a complete failure of the system to boot. In this case, try running this command from the Recovery Console. However, with severe damage, chkdsk plays a more destructive role if you want to restore the system.
