House of timber. Projects with their own hands. Should I use them?

You can buy a house, but you can, by following the instructions for any man, build it yourself. In the latter case, the ideal house can be a house made of timber. Projects with their own hands are relatively easy to make. As for labor, there will not be too many of them. In addition, natural wood is generally recognized as the most environmentally friendly material. In such a house it is not only pleasant to live, but also very useful.

In the simplest case, it is best to buy a ready-made beam, since its independent production can not by everyone. If you still decide to make the bar yourself, then you need to choose only the highest quality and healthy trunks, on which there are no traces of decay, fungus and pest damage. Saw logs can only be on the highest quality saw equipment, which performs smooth and high-quality sawing. The sawn timber should not only be treated with antiseptic solutions, but thoroughly dried. In a word, it is difficult to do this by yourself. But we will not elaborate in detail on how to build a house from a bar. Projects with their own hands - that's our goal! Is it worth it?

The success of building a house will largely depend on the normally drawn up project. All the sizes and proportions of the future "patrimonial nest" should be carefully thought out ahead of time, as the consumption of building materials depends on this. Given that the house of the beam (whose projects you can think of yourself or find ready) is not too cheap to call, the designer has a tremendous responsibility.

If you do not have the relevant knowledge and are not an architect, it is better to purchase a ready project or to find a free option (typical free projects are now enough). But! A free option is not a guarantee that you will build a good house out of a bar. Projects, created by their own hands, sometimes lead to the fact that in the finished building there is no pair or two doors or doorways more suitable for dwarfs.

Having made the project, you can start working with the foundation. When pouring the plinth (if the house is planned to be made wooden), do not forget about the construction of ventilation, since without it in the basement or even the basement will be damp. After the foundation has finally hardened (at least 28 days), it is possible to erect support walls. The easiest way is to build walls from a simple beam that has not been processed, with a diameter of 15 cm or more. If the bar is well dried, then due to its ease it will not be necessary to order heavy construction equipment. For the stability and strength of the structure, it is more appropriate to use stud joints. If you can not imagine what a house looks like from a bar, the project of which you have created with your own hands, it will not hurt to show it to a professional architect. So you will save yourself from many problems.

The construction of the timber has its own characteristics, which must be taken into account when drawing up preliminary drafts. The laying of walls practically does not differ from the construction of them from a regular log. If the beam is grooved, then you should refer to the standard methods known for laying the floorboards. For strength, vertical nails are used in this case. Walls need to be as carefully as possible pierced, as otherwise you will be constantly annoyed by drafts. In the house itself, all the walls and partitions are made of refractory materials, so that in case of fire the fire can not quickly spread through the room.

Thus, you can build a house from a bar. Projects with their own hands are another matter. If you do not have the experience and practice, it is better not to undertake complex drawings.
