History and Local History Museum in Balashikha: history, description and interesting facts

The city of Balashikha could be considered provincial if it were not in the Moscow region. Neighborhood with the capital left a mark on history. Almost all Russian nobles, and later industrialists, took part in its development. Modern Balashikha is an outpost for those who decided to storm Moscow or, on the contrary, seek a relative peace near the epicenter of history. The local history museum in Balashikha concentrated in the halls the history of the region and its achievements, keeps the memory of the famous townspeople.

Creating a museum

In 1968, the city authorities of Balashikha supported the public initiative to open a museum of local lore. Matjanova A. Ya. Was appointed the first director, to collect materials created a museum council, whose task was to organize the first exposure. For the needs of the museum was given an old (1820 year building) building. In the old days, it collected highway bribes from the infamous Vladimir tract and used it for postal purposes.

During the establishment of the institution, queries were written about materials in 17 archives, including the Historical and Local History Museum in Moscow. Second wind

The local history museum in Balashikha was opened for the second time in the 1990s and has been constantly operating since then. To equip the halls was given ground floor in a block of flats near the center of the city. During this period, active work is carried out to replenish funds and form new thematic expositions, the club of local lore specialists, among which there were well-known experts of the city and its history, such as Frolov VG, Chukhrov LA, Khomutov L. P . and others. On the territory of the museum meetings were held with interesting people, scientific conferences, educational lectures were read. The director was A. A. In the new century

In the second half of 1990, the local history museum in Balashikha opened a new educational page in its work. Under the guidance of the director of the institution, Mityugova Zinaida Maksimovna, educational programs for schoolchildren of all age groups were developed and introduced, and excursion activities within the city began.

Townspeople took an active part in the replenishment of funds. So, the collection of objects of everyday life was donated to the museum by V.G. Kuptsov, the unique documents related to celebrities-Alekseev Georgy Dmitrievich (sculptor), Kusov V. (director of the Obraztsov Puppet Theater) were added to the collection. Also in the collection there was a collection of ancient acts presented by Valenko D.D.

Current state

During 2006-2007, the local history museum in Balashikha underwent a reconstruction. The premises were expanded and modern conditions for the storage of funds were created. For these purposes, redevelopment was carried out, equipment was purchased. In 2008, the staff completely updated the exhibition, on the stands there were materials that the general public had not seen before. The thematic concept has changed - in its framework the history of the region, the cultural heritage were presented more broadly, there were stands telling about the leading enterprises of the city, people who are making its history every day.

At present, visitors are offered an excursion to three halls, rich materials and subjects telling about different periods of life of the city. The process of re-exposure allowed creating a new exhibition stand dedicated to the development of Balashikha in the period of the 50-80s of the last century. In 2004, the local history museum (Balashikha) moved to a new status - it became a municipal cultural institution.

Educational programs

The Balashikha Historical and Local History Museum offers several educational programs for schoolchildren:

  • "The world around us". The program consists of six sessions, where in the form of teaching knowledge on the museum business is taught. Children learn the history of the name of the city, the origin of heraldic signs. During one of the classes the schoolchildren are invited to get to know their native city and learn the old and new names of the streets.
  • "Journey to the world of man-made objects." For schoolchildren a series of lectures has been prepared, during which they learn not only the history of a particular exposition, but also get acquainted with the origin of Russian crafts, such as pottery or blacksmithing. Children are shown and told about the origins of Dymkovskaya, Kargopolskaya and other toys, about differences in their painting, why they arose. Stories about traditional woodworking, the manufacture of objects made of wood are interesting. Girls are interested in a lesson on national embroidery, its types, many are visually demonstrated in the exposition.
  • "The nature that surrounds us." This cycle of lessons is devoted to the diversity of flora and fauna of the Moscow region.
  • "Life, traditions and beliefs of the ancient Slavs. Christianity in Russia. " The history of the beliefs of people who inhabited the region in different historical epochs is traced. Attention is paid to Christian Orthodox holidays.
  • "Urban and noble life". In two classes, the children are told how their peers in the gymnasium got their knowledge, and what noblemen's estates were located in the area of modern Balashikha.
  • "The Great Patriotic War". In the course of the classes, students supplement school knowledge on the history of the war, about the heroism of citizens in a difficult period. They also learn why the streets of the city are named for events and dates of the Great Patriotic War. They get acquainted with stories about soldiers who have left to defend their Motherland from Balashikha.

Foundations

To date, the Local History Museum in Balashikha has 10 thousand units of the main fund and about 3,500 units of the auxiliary scientific fund. Museum funds are kept according to all norms of the museum business, they have system-information support.

The main part of the exposition and funds are collections of documents, household items of the 19th and 20th centuries, a large collection of author's photographs. The documents presented in the museum's funds are unique. This collection of ancient acts, historical documents of the region, personal archives of eminent citizens.

The museum is proud of its unique photobank, which included the works of famous masters of its time. Here are stored the photo-testimonies of the workers of the cotton-spinning factory made at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries. Of no less interest are the works of military commissar Temin VA, which depicts the everyday life of the Great Patriotic War and the Nuremberg trials. In 2006, the collection of works by V. Dmitrievsky, who had gone through the war and former personal photographer Khrushchev, was added to the photo fund.

Manor houses were built in the 18th and 19th centuries. The museum carefully preserves the furnishings of old mansions, which by miracle managed to be found and saved. It was a great honor for the museum to accept the Order and the awards of the times of the Great Patriotic War from citizens of the city.

The numismatics fund is filled with coins from the period of 18-20 centuries, but there are several rarities of the reign of Peter II, Anna Ioanovna, silver coins of the 19th century, the first banknotes of the USSR are widely represented. Work on the filling of funds does not stop, scientific and prospecting activities are conducted.

You can visit the museum during the day, from 10 am to 6 pm, at the weekend the institution closes at five o'clock in the evening. During the summer school holidays the museum is open daily from ten to eighteen, on Saturday the work ends at seventeen, and on Sunday - the day off.

The cost of a visit for one person is 100 rubles, for citizens of preferential categories the discount is 50%, an excursion for a group or an individual tour is 300 rubles per person.
