Historical background

King of Thailand was born in 1927 in the United States. He is the third child in the family after Sister Caljani and brother of King Rama IIX. Pumihon planned to devote his entire life to medicine, but the death of his brother, the ruling king, radically changed his life.

In June 1946, Bumihon Adulyadej became the new ruler. At that time, Rama IIX had not yet completed his studies, so he returned to Switzerland for additional training at the Faculty of Law and Political Science. It was then that he met his wife, the daughter of the Thai ambassador in France, Mom Sirikit Rachavong Kittiyakar.

In 1950, the official coronation of His Majesty took place, and since that time Pumihon has served his country and his people with faith and truth.

His Majesty knows all about Thailand, he has never confined himself to theory, he studies all problems in practice and seeks ways to solve them. Unlike many kings, Adulyadet also deals with the political life of the country. His efforts have extinguished many conflicts within the country. The government has taken either to love or hate, but the Thais have unlimited respect for their ruler, since all his actions are aimed at the good of the country.
