Greenhouse on Mitlajderu own hands: drawing, method, photo. Vegetable growing in Mitlajderu

And you want to get from one hundred parts of so many vegetables that they were enough for a family of four and even remained for sale? It sounds fantastic, does not it? But the method of Dr. Mitlajdera asserts, that it is quite real. How to achieve this result in your garden - read on.

Who is the author of the technique and why did it appear?

Dr. Jacob Mitlajder, world-renowned American agricultural specialist, proposed a new kind of home gardening, which absorbed 55 years of experience in the industry and was tested in 27 countries.

After 20 years of growing flowers and vegetables on an industrial scale, the scientist went on a long trip to study the diet of people in developing countries and tackle the problem of hunger. He found that diseases, pests and soil problems in all countries are similar. Therefore, he came to the conclusion that their solution is possible if the recommendations of experts and application of scientific methods of agriculture are observed.

So he developed vegetable growing on Mitlajderu - an easy-to-use collection of instructions that allows gardeners to obtain large yields of vegetables and other crops on almost any soil and in any climate.

Characteristics

What are the principal differences between ordinary gardening and the method of Mitlayer?

  • Ease of preparation. You do not need to waste time on special courses, studying a large volume of literature, obtaining results by trial and error. You just need to follow carefully verified instructions.
  • Traditional gardening in the first place puts the quality of the soil. But on Mitlajderu it is not so essential, it can be improved by a competent selection of fertilizers.
  • Many plants develop horizontally, which means they require more space. But in Mitlaidera's kitchen gardens, pillars and compacted crops are widely used. If the plant can curl (cucumber, peas, pumpkin, melon), then it must necessarily provide such an opportunity.
  • In ordinary vegetable growing it is customary to plant seeds when the soil gets warm enough. But a good greenhouse (on Mitlajderu) is a pledge of obtaining an abundant harvest 2-3 times a season. It is not necessary to grow plants all the time in it, sometimes it is enough just to get a strong seedling. Here's what the hothouse looks like on Mitlajder (photo below):

  • Another key difference is the type of soil moistening. To save moisture and nutrition directly to the roots used drip irrigation.
  • Also, the method of the American scientist asserts that for the successful development of plants, 16 types of nutrients must be introduced into the soil, and this should be done regularly.
  • Well, another interesting feature - pruning. For trees, this procedure is familiar, but for vegetables - exotic. Removing unnecessary leaves or other parts of the plant, you can achieve significant changes in the amount of harvest.

Pros and cons

Of course, it can not be said that the method of Mitlajder is an ideal way of vegetable growing.

Its advantages:

  • You can grow a large number of plants in a smaller area.
  • The Greenhouse on Mitlajderu provides the receipt of its early harvest or qualitative seedlings.
  • Significant water savings.
  • It is not necessary to observe the crop rotation, since the maintenance of a high level of soil fertility is achieved through the introduction of fertilizers.
  • Minimal efforts to control weeds.
  • The technology is applicable in different climatic conditions and is understandable even for beginners.

disadvantages

  • The financial cost of purchasing a mixture for planting, fertilizers, the construction of boxes for growing plants. Also for good results you need a greenhouse. On Mitlajderu the expenses will be more frequent, than at usual vegetable growing.
  • Although this method is considered organic, many of its elements cause heated discussions about this (for example, the abundance of artificial fertilizers). Also, almost complete rejection of natural ecological processes in the soil is cited: it is used only as a physical basis for root growth, but not for their nutrition.
  • Method Mitlajdera accuse of excessive commercialization. In the United States, there are entire companies that sell educational materials for this type of vegetable growing, the "right" mixtures for planting, fertilizers, greenhouse constructions, etc.

How to plant plants?

When using this method of truck farming, there are three options for planting:

  1. Beds: narrow, elevated, 45 cm wide, 9 m in length most often. This is a simple and cheap option available to beginners.
  2. Special boxes made of wood or concrete, filled with a mixture of sand and sawdust (whether new or old, but in no way nutty). This mixture does not give plants almost no food, so it requires intensive fertilization, but it provides excellent drainage and air access to the roots of plants.
  3. Greenhouse on Mitlajderu. Of course, this method requires investments, but you will get such advantages as:
  • Annual savings on seedlings;
  • Strong and healthy plants for transplant;
  • Obtaining fresh vegetables for a longer period.

Greenhouse on Mitlajderu own hands

First, select its size (depends on the size of the site and your needs), as well as the location under it. Here you need to consider such factors:

  • The space under the greenhouse should be flat, with the possibility of further expansion.
  • The place should be well lit, without shading.
  • In the Northern Hemisphere, the greenhouse should be oriented with its ends facing east and west, so that all plants are evenly illuminated.
  • A good greenhouse ensures the optimal temperature for the development of plants.

But another important factor is ventilation. Plants need a constant supply of fresh air. In a damp unventilated space diseases will quickly develop which can destroy all planting material.

Structural features

A typical greenhouse often rests on one arch or square support. This is a simple and inexpensive design, but it does not provide proper air circulation, and for large dimensions of the installation it is necessary to install fans.

Now let's see what a classic greenhouse looks like on Mitlajder. The drawing of the front part of the structure (width 6 m, length 12.2 m, height 2.6 m at the highest point) is shown below.

The greenhouse consists of two parts of different heights. The rectangular or circular shape of the supports is not of fundamental importance. A gable roof with a difference in height and large ventilation pans is perhaps the main advantage of the greenhouse.

A high slope should be oriented to the north in order to prevent cold air from entering the structure, and low - to the south.

Step by step the process is as follows:

  1. A base is made of a thick bar.
  2. The side walls are being built.
  3. The end walls are assembled with racks.
  4. The installation of the ventilation pane on the walls, doors.
  5. Roofing.
  6. Covering the greenhouse. Depending on the budget, you can prefer a conventional polyethylene film in two layers or cellular polycarbonate.

The construction of plants that rise above the ground for growing plants is another mandatory requirement, which must correspond to the hothouse on Mitlajderu. Drawing of the central two-sided table (width 183 cm, height - 72 cm, length - depends on the size of the structure):

It looks like this:

View of truckers

The practice of growing plants using Dr. Mitlider's technology has been tested many times in many countries around the world. Of course, she had ardent admirers and opponents. What is the evaluation of high beds, boxes and a greenhouse for Mitlajder from vegetable growers? Reviews can be divided into three groups:

  • Enthusiastic. Many people for the first time received a crop on poorly productive soils and claim that they will never return to the traditional way of working in the garden.
  • Negative. Above we listed the shortcomings of the method, and the skeptics quote them as their arguments, supporting them with many theoretical proofs. But most of it is feedback from people who have never tried to apply these recommendations.
  • Moderately positive. Time does not stand still and in its pure form the method of Mitlajdera is not used by many. However, gardener draw inspiration from his work and actively apply some ideas: drip irrigation, vertical plant growth, unusual but very productive form of greenhouses, and more. Also, most often people refuse completely chemical fertilizers and replace them with natural ones - compost, manure, etc.

Therefore, if the horticulture by Mitlajderu in its pure form does not suit you, you may be able to apply some of its principles to obtain a higher yield on your site.
