Grapes Valek: description of the variety
Grapes are a respectable decoration of any infield. Fans of fragrant amber berries, caressed by the scorching rays of the sun, will appreciate the Valek variety - a hybrid form obtained by crossing such varieties as Star, Risamat, Kesha 1, and absorbed the best qualities of each. The variety of Valek grapes is selected by the breeder Vishnevetsky NP, whose purpose is to create hybrid high-yielding forms of these berries, which have high taste qualities and a long shelf life.
Location of grape bushes
Grapes Valek is the pride of Vishnevetsky, the child and pet, designed for growing in regions with different climatic conditions, from which the northern part of Ukraine is the most suitable for it. It is recommended to plant grapes in well-lit open areas that are not obscured by other plants. It is advisable to do this on the hills, because cold air and water can stagnate in the lowland, which causes great harm to the bush. On homestead plots it is better to choose the south or south-west side, protected from winds.
The principles of correct landing
The soil is light, without presence at the surface of groundwater. Large shrubs should be planted at a distance from each other, which will provide them not only the space required for normal growth, but also the root system of nutrients in full. The distance in the row between the bushes should be at least 3 meters, between rows - 4 meters. The pit for planting the seedlings should be large, at least 80 cm deep. It must be fully supplied with nutrients that will feed the bush before the beginning of the fruiting period.
First, it is required to lay a mixture of prepared soil, which is the top layer removed during digging of the pit. Then 2-3 buckets of compost with dense mineral fertilizers are added. One more upper soil layer is placed above. Before planting a seedling, the pit should stand for 2-3 weeks.
Grapes Valek: description
This hybrid variety is characterized by an early ripening period (105 days). In the middle belt, the harvest is collected near the end of the summer. Bushes vigorous, clusters, which grow larger every year - are weighty and dense with a lot of berries. They have a mass of 1.5 to 2.5 kilograms. Valek Valek, consumers' reviews about which speak for themselves, has the trademark of brushes equipped with large and beautiful berries intended for fresh consumption.
This delicacy is very attractive and appetizing. Vines are fleshy, toasty with sunlight, bright yellow, have a pleasant pear taste and a rich muscat flavor. The shape of the fruit is oval, each weighing 14-16 grams. The average length of one grapes is 3 cm, and width - 2.8 cm. To taste, they are very sweet, the skin is edible. Fruiting is good, the bushes are characterized by strong growth. With excellent ripening of shoots, the yield is maximally high.
Positive Factors of Valek
A young vine of this variety ripens almost full length, the cuttings are well rooted. Experts recommend to grow grapes on their own roots, without grafting to other varieties (with which it has good compatibility) to avoid loss of taste. This grapes has a flower of both sexes, thanks to which the bush fructifies regularly and 100%. Flowers keep open for 10 days, pollinated pollinated even in rainy weather and are an excellent pollinator for other varieties of grapes.
Grapes Valek perfectly tolerates transportation, very resistant to gray rot and most fungal diseases, able to survive the winter and can withstand the temperature to minus 24 degrees.
For the cultivation of a healthy, strong and dense bush, its proper planting is necessary, under which it is necessary to excavate the pits, equip them with drainage and provide the plant with qualitative watering.
Basic principles of growing and care
Growing Valek grapes and caring for them is similar to caring for other varieties:
- Regular weeding of the soil.
- Watering in the summer, produced no more than 3 times, and in too hot weather - 4 times. Moisture is the basis for the growth of any plant. The bush is important to water before flowering, as well as at the time of the formation of brushes. Each irrigation is recommended to accompany mulching the soil, for which you can use moss or sawdust.
- Oblomination of shoots is necessary to get rid of bad, sick, dry branches that prevent the normal flow of water and nutrients to fertile healthy sprouts. It is recommended to break off shoots after the formation of the mustaches and inflorescences, but before they solidify and become stiff at the base. The procedure is required to start from the base of the bush with a gradual advancement to the sleeves.
- Pinching (the essence of which is to get rid of the green shoot from the top) and breakdown of stepsons, which causes the receipt of the necessary amount of nutrients and water to healthy sprouts. These procedures, helping to avoid improper development and slow growth of the plant, are carried out a couple of days before flowering in order to avoid a strong growth of the bush.
- Thinning leaves that lie on the surface of the bunches and cover them from the sun's rays. This will determine the fastest maturation of grapes and increase the level of sugar in it. This procedure is required to produce a few weeks before the ripening of the grape brushes. In order not to harm the plant, it is recommended to remove 5 leaves (or less) near each bunch.
- Pruning is carried out in autumn, after falling leaves. It is required to avoid the growth of the bush and the grinding of the berries of the future crop. In the first year after planting, no pruning is performed.
- Spraying is aimed at destroying pests and preventing various diseases.
- Ground fertilizing is carried out in the autumn period. Fertilizer is brought as close as possible to the roots of the plant in a trench dug near the bush. The proportion in this case is as follows: for 1 sq. Km. Meter vine-covered surface requires you to make 6-8 kg of manure and 80-100 grams of wood ash.
On the eve of the winter period bushes must be covered, and after the end of frosts the vine should be opened. This is best done in cloudy weather before sunrise or after sunset.
Although Valek is rarely subjected to fungal diseases, it is still better to treat the surface of the vine with special chemical solutions.
