Shelf life of eggs at home
It's no secret that the guarantee of health and well-being of our body is proper nutrition, namely the use of high-quality and fresh products. But even with the most careful selection of food they can be useless or even harmful if you do not know how to store them properly. As you know, natural products often have a short shelf life. They quickly deteriorate, and we have to buy again and again fresh goods. Therefore, knowing the basic rules of food storage, you take care of your health and protect your finances.
So, the shelf life of products can be extended as follows: by cooling or by one of the processing methods (cooking, smoking, salting, etc.). At the same time, it is necessary to remember that not only the shelf life of food, but also its taste qualities, can change. After processing, the composition of the products, as well as their odor and appearance, change.
It is important to know that the shelf life depends on the conditions under which the product was placed. For example, chicken eggs. This is a natural product recommended for nutrition to both healthy and sick people. Eggs must necessarily enter the daily diet. This will ensure the normal development and growth of children. In addition, chicken eggs are known as an invariable participant in dietary nutrition. Proper storage of the product will help not only keep it fresh, but also save the entire value of eggs.
The shelf life of eggs in the refrigerator reaches 5 weeks at a temperature of +1 C. This applies to eggs in raw form. And it is important to know when they were demolished, and were not packaged or bought in the store. It turns out that before the eggs get into our refrigerator, they can be already about two weeks. For this reason, it is worth paying attention to the date of production of the goods, and not the packaging. By the way, manufacturers themselves often point to egg packs for up to 25 days.
For long-term storage, the integrity of eggs is important. If the shell has cracks, there is a possibility of penetration of Salmonella bacteria inside.
As for the storage of eggs without shell, yolks can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 4 days, and proteins - up to 5 (of course, tightly closing the container).
The favorite way of eating chicken eggs is in boiled form. It is not only tasty, but also practical: they can be taken on the road. In addition, boiled eggs are the safest (with prolonged heat treatment all bacteria and microbes die) compared to eggs or cooked soft-boiled. The shelf life of cooked eggs is about seven days (in the refrigerator), and if the egg bursts during cooking, then 4 days. In this case, foreign smells can penetrate through the pores in the shell. Therefore, it is worth wrapping eggs with food film. At room temperature, boiled eggs are suitable for only 12 hours.
