Gordon Moore is a native of the Californian city of San Francisco (USA). He was born in 1929 on January 3. After receiving the certificate of maturity, the young man successfully passed the exams at the State University of San Jose, but he studied there only two years.

Then Gordon transferred to the University of Berkeley (California) and, having obtained a diploma, began to work in the above-mentioned university, having reached the academic degree of the bachelor of chemistry. In 1954, the young man became a doctor of science in the field of physics and chemistry, but already at a technological institute. Shortly before that, he got a job as an employee of the Applied Physics Laboratory at the University of D. Hopkins.

In 1956, Gordon Moore, whose biography is of great interest to beginning entrepreneurs, enlists in the staff of the Shockley Semiconductor Laboratory (Palo Alto), under the physicist William Shockley.

They wanted to create a company in a territory known as the Silicon Valley.

But physicists faced a trivial problem, namely: where to get money to open an enterprise? It was necessary to look for an investor. Having compiled a business plan on paper that fit on one sheet of A-4 sheet, entrepreneurs went to San Francisco to financial tycoon Arthur Rocu. He was carried away by their idea, knowing full well what achievements these two geniuses could achieve. As a result, he invested 2.5 million dollars in the project. So there was the world-famous company Intel.

Initially, the company staff was small. The companions took the secretary and one other employee. He was Andrew Grove, a colleague at Fairchild Semiconductor. Formally, the reins of Intel's management were concentrated in the hands of Robert Noyce, and Gordon Moore got the position of vice president. In the mid-70's he became executive director and president of the company in one person.
