George Skrebitsky - the singer of native nature

Georgy Skrebitsky is a writer who was in love with his native fields, forests, mountains. His books tell of travel to the beautiful world of nature. Childhood

After receiving secondary education in one of the schools of the town, Georgy Skrebitsky goes to the capital, where he enters the Literary Department at the Institute of Living Word. After the young man mastered the writing skills, the next step in the training was the Higher Zootechnical Institute. Here George mastered the basics of hunting and fur farming.

Having graduated from this institution, the young man goes to work in the research institute for fur farming and hunting. Then he was a research fellow in the laboratory at Moscow State University, where he studied the psychology of various animals. This work allowed Skrebitsky to participate in various expedition trips, to explore the life of animals on the loose.

Such observations he had been doing for 5 years. In 1937, Georgiy Alekseevich was awarded the title of Candidate of Biological Sciences. For some time he headed the Department of Animal Physiology at Moscow State University. All this time he worked on several scientific works related to zoology and zoopsychology.

Singer of Russian nature

The older the scientist became, the more often he wanted to write down all his hunting adventures on paper, as well as capture childhood memories of the first encounters with nature. So gradually, George began to turn into a singer of his native nature. Many younger schoolchildren are familiar with Skrubitsky's first work "Ushan" about a bunny born in the autumn. This led the author to the idea of writing stories about animals. He is also the author of two novels. His books are known not only in Russia, but also in Poland, Bulgaria, Germany, Albania, Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic.

In the 1940s Georgy Skrebitsky closely collaborated with the well-known animal writer Vera Chaplina. She helped him publish works, and also suggested ideas for new stories. Together they wrote stories about animals for the youngest readers and published in children's magazines.

Scenarios for cartoons

Especially strikingly expressed vivid features of the talent of the writer-naturalist in the creation of scenarios for filmstrips and cartoons. In all these works, the main characters were animals. The most memorable works are the filmstripes "Who as Winter", "Who Sings Like a Summer", "About Squirrel-Blowing," "Bear-Bearer".

In 1949, Georgy Skrebitsky visited Western Belorussia. After that he wrote many essays and collected them in the book "Belovezhskaya Pushcha". His last novel, the writer never finished, it was completed by Vera Chaplin. Death overtook George Alekseyevich unexpectedly, in the summer of 1964 he had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. Acute heart attack did not give a chance to Skrebitsky, he died on August 18 of the same year.
