Gennady Krokhalev is a ghost hunter. A brief biography and the activity of a psychiatrist from Omsk

Mental disorders are still a mystery not only for ordinary people, but also for scientists. After all, the reasons that cause our minds to "go out of order" are still not known. Heredity, child abuse, birth trauma and stresses can lead to the development of the disease, but sometimes the reasons why a person begins to see the invisible remain a mystery. And what if hallucinations, which are one of the main symptoms of mental disorders, are not games of the sick mind, but a physical phenomenon that can be fixed with the help of special instruments? Suddenly, people who are diagnosed with a terrible diagnosis, are able to see what the healthy do not see?

This article is devoted to a man who tried to fix hallucinatory images - psychiatrist Gennady Krokhalev. Was he a genius who opened the door to other realities, or a charlatan who wished to gain fame not in an honest way? In this article we will try to answer this question.

Beginning of the research of Gennady Krokhalev

Gennady Krokhalev, whose biography is no less mysterious, what his research, was born on August 12, 1941 in the Perm region. In 1965, the boy graduated from the medical institute, and in 1967 he started working in one of the Omsk psychiatric hospitals. Most of Krokhalev's patients were people with alcoholism: in a state of delirium, the patients saw bright, frightening hallucinations.

Once Gennady Krokhalev read in the journal "Technique of Youth" an article devoted to attempts to film images of visual hallucinations on film. It reported that the images appearing in the human brain are transmitted to the retina of the eye, and thence to the surrounding space. Of course, only people suffering from mental disorders can see hallucinations. However, you can fix hallucinatory images using a conventional camera.

From this article, one of Gennady Krokhalev's main hobbies began: he decided that he should try to repeat the experiments described in the journal himself, there was no benefit to the test subjects.

Prerequisites

The idea that hallucinations can be projected by patients into space is far from new. This idea periodically tormented the researchers. After all, some facts confirm this amazing hypothesis. For example, it has long been noted that visual hallucinations obey the physical laws of refraction: if you press on the eyeball of the patient, the images split, and if a person looks through binoculars, the image may approach or, conversely, move away. Such phenomena were recorded quite often, but the Soviet psychiatrist Gennady Krokhalev was the first to start their experimental research, whose works are either lost now or classified. It was he who tried to prove by experience that any thought is really material.

The first experiments

In January 1974, Gennady Krokhalev together with his brother decided to conduct the first experiment on fixing hallucinatory images onto the film. The researchers decided to start with themselves. But how can a person who is not suffering from mental disorders see a hallucination? The brothers decided to use one of the properties of human perception, long known to Gestalt psychologists. Gennady long considered the female portrait in bright light. When the light was turned off, the image remained before his eyes: anyone can repeat this experience. In the dark, Gennady Pavlovich Krokhalev tried to project the image that stood in front of his mind's eye, with the effort of thought, onto the photographic film. Surprisingly, after developing on one of the shots, a faint female portrait was seen.

Experiments with patients: improved technology

In order to explore the hallucinatory images of his patients, Krokhalev came up with a special device: he attached the camera to their eyes with a special mask. This allowed not to obscure the room during attempts to fix the visions.

For 22 years, Krokhalev was able to examine a total of 250 patients. 117 of them received pictures of visual hallucinations. In this case, the patients themselves easily identified the images on the film with those images that appeared before them in hallucinations. The coincidences could not fail to amaze: on photographs, cats, devils, people and other creatures that so frightened the unfortunate patients of the psychiatric clinic are clearly visible. Thus, his scientist Gennady Krokhalev proved his hypothesis. Photos of patients' visions were sent to the leading scientific institutions of Russia.

Criticism of Krokhalev's works

Of course, the opening of the Omsk doctor could not but interest the scientific community. Krokhalev's ideas were tested by Moscow researchers and scientists from the Ministry of Health of Russia. However, during the experiments in which Krokhalev did not participate, no images were obtained on the film.

It is known that one of the main criteria for the scientific character of an idea is the possibility of experimentally confirming it anywhere in the world. If the phenomenon is fixed in Omsk, but in Moscow, scientists do not get a similar result, the idea is recognized as having nothing to do with science. Such a fate befell Krokhalev. And real hostilities began against him: his articles did not go to print, and at a conference held abroad, he simply was not released. It came to the point that Gennady was deemed crazy and even tried to put him in a psychiatric hospital ...

Explanation of experimental results

How, then, is the opportunity to fix hallucinatory images on film? Krkhalev himself Gennady Pavlovich believed that visual hallucinations have an external origin. A sick person has reduced energy potential, and he begins to see something that can not be seen in the normal state of consciousness. By the way, this idea was confirmed experimentally: if the patients were placed in a shielded dark room, the hallucinations disappeared.

Krokhalev was sure that he managed to prove the existence of a delicate astral world with negative energy, which only the elite can see. And this world is so terrible that at the sight of its inhabitants it is simply impossible not to go insane.

A genius or a madman?

Of course, the discovery of such a scale can not but shock the scientific community. However, in Russia the work of the scientist has never been published, while abroad there are entire laboratories working on the method created by Gennady Krokhalev. "Science and Life" has released several articles devoted to his experiments, but this matter was limited. Meanwhile, many believe that this man is worthy of receiving the Nobel Prize.

True, there is one thing: skeptics are sure that the images obtained by Krokhalev are nothing more than film defects, and the patients treated the drawings in the way the inflamed mind told them to. In addition, to confirm the findings of a psychiatrist or to repeat his experiments no one has ever succeeded.

"Call": Krokhalev's ideas and cinematography

Not all people know that one of the most horrible horror films - "Bell" - was filmed by the director, inspired by the ideas of Gennady Krokhalev. According to the plot, the ghost was able to capture on the film, and every person who looked at the record was doomed to die in terrible agony. By the way, Krokhalev's article "Photographing Mind Images" was first published in Japan in 1977.

The film "Bell" was released on screens in 1998. In a fateful coincidence, it was this year that Gennady Krokhalev, whose photos of the patients were so impressed by the imagination of the Japanese director, passed away. The scientist committed suicide by hanging.

Murder or suicide?

The death of Gennady Krokhalev, like his research, leaves more questions than answers. Did the scientist leave the life voluntarily or were "assisted" by the employees of classified secret services? The second point of view is held by the conspiracy theorists who are convinced that the paranormal world has long been studied in the laboratories of the FSB, and Krokhalev has crossed the line, which a simple mortal is strictly forbidden to enter. In addition, Gennady Pavlovich's daughter claims that on the eve of death her father often said that he was on the threshold of discovery, which would turn the world over.

Gennady Krokhalev's brother believes that the researcher was ruined by attempts to penetrate into the "forbidden dimension": maybe the creatures that the scientist was able to capture on tape, decided to take revenge on the too curious doctor?

At the time of his death Gennady Krokhalev was only 57 years old.

The mystery carried to the grave

The family of Gennady Krokhalev still leaves no attempts to investigate the death of the scientist. After all, Krokhalev's brother talked to him on the telephone only two hours before his death: Gennady was cheerful and full of energy, shared plans for further research ... And the deceased's daughter claims that the time of death, which Gennady Krokhalev fixed for something, was not recorded His hand ...

Unfortunately, it is not possible to conduct an independent investigation: the family of the scientist was threatened by unknown people, they say, will dig - go after the deceased.

Legacy Gennady Krokhaleva

Gennady Krokhalev, whose photographs prove the reality of the unreal, left quite a lot of work behind him. True, after his death, the materials mysteriously disappeared: shortly before the suicide the scientist sent them to one of the laboratories of the Russian special services. To do this he was prompted by a call from Moscow: the researcher was promised huge funds for the continuation of experiments on fixing mental images. Therefore, at the moment, the data received by Krokhalev are not available to the scientific community: who knows, maybe based on the research of the Omsk psychiatrist, psychotropic weapons of the new generation are being developed? Or is everything much simpler, and scientists considered his work a delusion, unworthy of close examination?

However, the brother of Gennady Krokhalev refused to continue the research. He believes that it is not necessary to touch upon a topic that can be dangerous for all mankind.

Ghost catcher: is it worth considering the existence of the other world as a proven fact?

Of course, the question of whether Gennady Krokhalev managed to open the window to the paranormal fourth dimension can not but torment the people who, at least with the edge of their ears, heard about the works of the Omsk researcher. So who are we dealing with? With a charlatan who wanted to make a name for himself, with insanity or with a genius?

The first hypothesis should be dismissed immediately: Krokhalev's relatives assert that the scientist was fascinated by his research and sincerely believed in what he was doing. Perhaps, for a long time working with crazy patients, the psychiatrist himself went mad? This idea has a right to exist: unfortunately, professional deformation in the system "man is a sick person", as psychologists say, is most pronounced, and doctors often adopt certain symptoms of patients. Besides, on the films that were left after Gennady Krokhalev, it's really hard to see something, except for spots and indistinct chiaroscuro. True, Krohalev was not officially diagnosed.

Maybe Gennady Krokhalev, a psychiatrist from Omsk, really could find something very important, to which humanity was simply not yet ready. Shortly before his tragic death, the scientist told his relatives that he had managed to make an important discovery that could even bring him the Nobel Prize. Perhaps, realizing what consequences his work may have, the scientist decided to die, realizing that it's too early to open doors to otherworldly worlds. Unfortunately, it is not possible to find out the answer to this question. Although it is possible that in the future, scientists will be able to establish contact with the world of the dead and ask Krokhalev about what made him commit suicide ...

Who was Gennady Krokhalev? Books about his discovery are almost inaccessible, and all materials disappeared in Moscow laboratories. Therefore, we will not get an answer to this question soon ...
