Where to begin

How is the gable roof assembled? The roofing system under the corrugated board will turn out to be reliable, and the roof itself is neat only if a detailed design is prepared in advance. When developing the latter, you need:

  • Calculate the load on the roof;

  • Determine the type of materials required for construction;

Of what to build

From what concrete materials can such a gable roof be built? A rafter system, the installation of which by your own hands - in any case, a responsible one, must, of course, be as reliable as possible. But one of the advantages of corrugated board is that it has a low weight. Therefore, it is not necessary to use any special, very strong materials for assembling the frame under it. For rafters such a roof is quite suitable for a standard beam of 150x100 mm. Lumber of a larger cross-section is advisable to use only if the attic is to be used as a dwelling. Rafters for such a roof are usually made of a bar 200 x 100 mm.

The lining can be assembled from the edging board 30x100-150 mm. Too much sawn timber in this case can not be used. Such boards after a while will simply dry up and strongly disintegrate, which will negatively affect the reliability of the roof. Under the Mauerlat it is better to take a thicker bar - 200x150 mm.

The step between the elements of the construction

Too often, frame supports for light metal sheets are also optional. The optimal distance between the rafters of the gable roof under the corrugated board is 60-80 cm. As for the battens, the step between its elements is chosen taking into account the variety of the sheets used. So, for a thick material 0.6-0.7 mm with a profile height of 3.5 cm, boards can be packed at a distance of up to 1.5 m from each other.

For the standard H-grade corrugated board, the step of the battens is usually 60-70 cm. The same distance is suitable for the material HH. A thin sheet C is mounted on a crate packed with a pitch of 10 cm or on a pile of solid 12 mm plywood or OSB sheets.

On the chopped and paved walls the rafters are attached with a sliding method. The fact is that such houses in the first time after erection give a strong shrinkage. Therefore, the rigidly fixed roof frame in the future can simply lead. When the sliding method of installing the rafters, special fixing elements are used, "slides", which ensure mobility of supports in a small range.

How to install

Mount the supporting elements of the skeleton correctly. In this case, you get a neat symmetrical gable roof. The rafter system for profiled sheeting, as well as for any other material, should be assembled using a template. In this case, all legs will have the same length. For gable roofs from profiled sheeting can use both simple straight rafters (with a corner cut off at an appropriate angle), and a variant with landing nests under the Mauerlat. Between the above, the frame supports are usually fastened with special thick steel plates.

The first farms are always established first. Further, between the highest points of the cord stretches. Then, orienting on it, establish intermediate farms. On the large roofs between the two pairs of rafters pre-mounted ridge run on the supports. The latter are securely fixed to the beams of the floor.

Installation of insulation and waterproofing

If the attic is supposed to be made residential, when the roof is erected, of course, it will have to be insulated. On the roofs of corrugated board for this purpose is most often used mineral wool. As a support under it from the attic to the rafters wire is stretched. The mats themselves are installed by the enemy.

The waterproofing on the rafters is sewn with a slight sag (2 cm). You can not tighten the film very much. Otherwise, with the movements of the frame, it can simply tear. Produce the installation of strips of the waterproofing horizontally from the bottom upwards with an overlap of not less than 10-15 cm.

Edging of the battens

Support boards under the sheets of corrugated board to the rafters are attached by means of nails with a diameter of about 3-3.5 mm. The length of fasteners in this case must be twice the thickness of the fixed elements themselves. The assembly starts from the eaves. Mount the boards should be to each rafter for two nails. The last two rows of the skate are packed without a gap.

After the crate has been assembled, it is possible to proceed to the carcass plating by the actual corrugated board. At the final stage, the roof gable roofs are upholstered.

Wood - the material is very easy to process and yet strong enough. That is why the gable roof system with its own hands is collected most often from the timber and board. However, for a very long time the lumber can not boast, unfortunately, can not. Sooner or later, the roofing of the building begins to crack or rot.
