How to make a battery at home: 4 ways. Application of graphite rod

Of course, the battery is easy to buy in any store of household goods, electronics or in a hypermarket. However, for the sake of interesting experiments and gaining the knowledge of the "school of life", it is still worth knowing how to make a battery with your own hands. Especially the process of such work is very entertaining and uncomplicated.

Lemon battery: two options

For the first option you will need:

  • The actual lemon;
  • The zinced nail;
  • 2 small pieces of copper wire;
  • Copper coin;
  • Small light.

The work process is as follows:

  1. Make two cuts on the fruit at a distance from each other.
  2. In one incision put a nail, and in another - a coin.
  3. And connect a piece of wire to the nail and to the coin. The second ends of this improvised wiring should be in contact with the bulb's contacts.
  4. And all - let there be light!

A self-made battery of sour fruit can be made with the help of:

  • The same lemon;
  • A paper clip;
  • Light bulbs;
  • 2 segments of insulated copper wire with a diameter of 0.2-0.5 mm and a length of 10 cm.

The algorithm is as follows:

  1. Strip 2-3 cm of insulation at the ends of each wire.
  2. Attach the bare part of one harness to the clip.
  3. Make in the lemon two notches 2-3 cm apart - along the width of the paper clip and for the second wiring. Insert these elements into the fruit.
  4. Place the free ends of the wire on the contact portion of the light bulb. If it does not catch fire, then the selected lemon is not powerful enough - consistently connect a few fruits to each other and repeat the experiment.

Battery of potatoes

Stock up:

  • Two potatoes;
  • Three wires with clamps;
  • Two chrome nails;
  • Two copper nails.

So, how to make a battery of tubers:

  1. Give a symbol for each of the potatoes - "A" and "B".
  2. In the edges of each of the tubers, stick on the chrome carnation.
  3. In the opposite direction is a copper nail. In the body of potatoes, nails should not overlap.
  4. Take any device that is powered by a battery, remove it and leave the compartment open.
  5. The first wire should connect the copper pin of tuber "A" to the positive pole in the battery compartment.
  6. The second wire connects the chrome plated pin of potato "B" with a negative pole.
  7. The last wire connects the chrome nail of the tuber "A" with the copper nail of the tuber "B".
  8. As soon as you close all the wires in this way, the potatoes will start feeding the device with energy.

Potatoes in this experiment can be replaced with banana, avocado or any of the citrus fruits.

Battery of foil, cardboard and coins

Before making a battery, prepare:

  • Copper coins;
  • vinegar;
  • salt;
  • cardboard;
  • Foil;
  • Scotch;
  • Two pieces of insulated copper wire.

All is ready? For business:

  1. First you need to clear coins thoroughly - for this pour the vinegar into a glass container, add salts there and fill up the money.
  2. As soon as the surfaces of the coins are transformed and shiny, take them out of the container, take one and 8-10 times circle it on the cardboard.
  3. Cut the cardboard roundels along the contour. Then put them in a container with vinegar for a while.
  4. Fold the foil several times so that the result is 8-10 layers. Circle the coin on it and cut out the circular details along the contour.
  5. At this point, start collecting the battery. This is done like this: a copper coin, a cardboard, a foil. In this order, add to the column all the components you have. The final layer should be only a coin.
  6. Remove the insulation from the ends of the wiring.
  7. Cut off a small strip of adhesive tape, glue one end of the wiring on it, place an improvised battery on top, and the end of the second wiring on it. Secure the structure securely with adhesive tape.
  8. Connect the second ends of the wire to the "+" and "-" of the device, which must be saturated with energy.

Eternal Battery

Prepare:

  • Glass jar;
  • Silver element - for example a spoon;
  • Food film;
  • copper wire;
  • 1 teaspoon of cooked soda;
  • 4 bubbles of glycerin;
  • 1 teaspoon of 6% apple cider vinegar.

How to make a battery, read on:

  1. Tightly wrap the spoon with food film, leaving its upper and lower end slightly exposed.
  2. Now it's time to wrap the spoon over the film with copper wire. Do not forget to leave long ends at the beginning and end for the contacts. Make space between turns.
  3. Again, the film layer, and then the wire, by the same method. The "film-wire" layers on this improvised coil should be at least seven. Do not over tighten the layers too much - the film should be wound freely.
  4. In a glass jar, prepare a solution of glycerin, salt and vinegar.
  5. After the salt has dissolved, a coil can be immersed in the solution. As soon as the liquid becomes turbid, the "eternal" battery will be ready for use. Its service life is directly dependent on the silver content of the coil-based element.

Graphite rod: application

The graphite component of old batteries is not only the basis for a new energy source, but also an element that can be used for electric welding. This is done in a simple way:

  1. Grind the graphite rod from the old battery at an angle of 30-40 degrees.
  2. A crocodile clip with a conductive handle connect it to the "+" and "-" AC or DC source.
  3. Connect the "0" and "-" to the cleaned parts.
  4. The electrode should be sharpened periodically as it burns out.

How to make a battery at home? You will need materials, a bit of enthusiasm and perseverance. In exchange, you will receive alternative sources of energy.
