Famous American rock bands

Music accompanied humanity at all stages of its development. It helps to relax, overcome depression, tune in to the right way.

One of the most common genres today is rock. And although the popularity of it is much inferior to such styles as pop, rap and chanson (because of what heavy music is often attributed not to mass, but to an elite culture), lovers of guitar reefs continue to attend live concerts, wear bold things and listen every day Favorite music.

An important role in the development of the genre in direct and figurative senses was played by American rock bands. The most famous of them will be listed below.

American rock band. List of the most successful

  • In 1965, the whole world literally exploded, when the radio shows and the TV began to broadcast performances of the group The Doors. Their style is psychedelic, mixed with blues and acid rock. Young people, future rock stars, were born and grew up in Los Angeles. In the sixties their work had a tremendous impact on the entire American culture. Jim Morisson - scandalously known vocalist of the group - died of (according to one version) a heart attack in 1971. Since then, The Doors have become even more popular. They are listened to even today. Many American rock bands are the correspondence students of the great The Doors.
  • About the group Nirvana today heard almost everyone. Many popular American rock bands were formed under the influence of the creativity of this team. The beginning of their work is 1987. They played in grunge style and released 3 studio and 3 live albums, as well as 4 collections. Some of them came out after the death of vocalist Kurt Cobain. In 1994, he was found dead in his own house. About whether he himself took over his hands or someone "helped" him, is still unknown, but many facts speak in favor of the second option.

Rock is a loose concept. It includes hundreds of sub-genres. It can be calm lyrical melodies, and can - bezbashennye, "meat" (as the fans say) tracks. The latter are the prerogative of metal. American rock bands were among the first to start promoting heavy music, so to speak, to the masses.

When there was not yet an Internet network (yes there, there were no CD-ROMs either), many young people exchanged cassettes with their favorite music. In the 80's in absolute favor the majority had legends of thrash metal - the Metallica band. It was formed in 1981. Their composition has changed many times, but it has not affected creativity in any way, and they continue to produce albums and give concerts to this day. Metallica enters the so-called Big Four along with such giants as Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax. By the way, all four groups are American. There are a lot of similarities in their sound, but their creativity differs considerably. The Kreator group also plays in the style of thrash metal. Despite the fact that it was formed in Germany, many refer to its style of the American school, because the guys are singing in English, and their sound is more typical for groups formed in the US.

And here is another "metal", but a little less well-known group, rather than the above. This is Type O Negative from Brooklyn. Their music is heavy, but lyrical. They have been playing since 1989 in the style of gothic and doom metal. In 2010, the group was forced to stop its activities in connection with the death of the permanent vocalist Peter Steele. Type O Negative released 7 studio albums.

Of course, the above-mentioned American rock bands are not the only ones. There is still a lot of very interesting collectives.
