Endocrinology: male sex hormone

The male sex hormone is called "androgen." This is a specific chemical substance, produced in the endocrine glands and having a direct impact on all processes that occur in the body, and on the work of all internal organs and systems. The term "androgen" is literally translated as "created by a man".

Such components as acetic acid and cholesterol are involved in the formation of this chemical. Male sex hormone is produced in the glands, called testes. Its formation is regulated by a number of other substances, in particular, by compounds produced by the pituitary gland. The scheme according to which the formation of androgens occurs, has several stages and is rather complicated. At the same time, at a certain moment, there comes a time for their natural destruction. To do this, the hormones in men are sent to the liver, the tissues of which are placed into separate components. Separately, it should be noted that a certain amount of androgens, for example, testosterone, can not be split by the liver, and therefore is simply excreted along with urine.

To influence the male sex hormone begins already during intrauterine development at the stage when the sex glands are laid . After the birth of the child, the androgens first perform a function that is aimed at developing non-mainstream masculine traits. Later they take an active part in puberty, in the formation of seminal fluid and in the organization of the correct functioning of the sexual system of the adult body.

Even a slight malfunction in the process of androgen secretion can lead to serious consequences - to problems with sexual arousal, to libido disorder and deterioration of the quality of the liquid component of the sperm. Essential malfunctions in the system of education of male hormones can provoke infertility.

The most famous of the androgens is testosterone. It is this male sex hormone that has the ability to accelerate the process of protein formation to the greatest extent, than all the others. The latter, in turn, stimulates the build-up of muscle mass.

The level of hormones in the body of an adult male is not constant. For example, the blood content of the same testosterone directly depends on the state of health and the time period. In addition, the secretion of androgens can reveal the time cycles - annual, monthly and daytime.

For example, in the autumn period, the male sex hormone is present in the body in the largest number. In contrast, by the way, from women, the peak of which falls on the spring months. In addition, the morning indices of androgen content are much higher than the evening.

In conclusion, it is necessary to consider such a phenomenon as male menopause - a process that is associated with the natural oppression of the reproductive system as a result of a sharp reduction in the number of sex hormones. The main symptoms of this process are a decrease in sexual desire, a violation of erection and a decrease in the concentration of testosterone in the blood. However, all these phenomena can also be present in diseases that have absolutely nothing to do with hormones. For this reason, in the case of such symptoms, there is a direct need to visit a qualified specialist.
