EM technology: description and application. Natural farming

Using chemical fertilizers, you can get good yields. However, intensive management methods lead to depletion and contamination of soils. Vegetables and fruits grown in this way, to all other things also do not differ in ecological purity. Therefore, many states of the world spend huge sums on the development of new technologies for farming. One of them was a technique called "Effective microorganisms." EM technologies allow to significantly increase the yield of cultivated plants and the productivity of agricultural animals without causing any harm to the environment.

A bit of theory

As is known, plants do not feed directly by organic and mineral fertilizers, but by the products of the vital activity of the soil bacteria that process them. The latter are conditionally divided into regenerative and deregenerative ones.

A feature of all bacteria without exception is passivity. That is, soil microorganisms always follow the predominant group on a particular site. This is the basis for EM technology. When introducing into the soil a group of beneficial bacteria, all the microorganisms contained in it become regenerative. As a result, plants begin to receive much more nutrients. In addition, the structure of the soil improves and, as a result, the yield increases.

Preparations EM

The technology of EM was developed for the first time by a Japanese scientist named Hego Tera. The drug created by him contains about 86 species of various microorganisms. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that, in its development, anaerobic and aerobic bacteria were collected in one medium, the conditions for their existence being diametrically opposed. The former can develop only in the absence of oxygen, the latter, on the contrary, can not do without it.

The use of EM in Japan allowed the elimination of an unpleasant smell from urban landfills in a very short time. Sewage, in which this remedy was added for the experiment, was cleared a few days later enough that they could be drunk.

The use of EM technology in livestock breeding has also made it possible to achieve excellent results. Cows, pigs and chickens were much better at weight gain and less sick. It was also found out that the drugs EM have a beneficial effect on the human gastrointestinal tract. However, the best results using these tools were achieved, of course, in agriculture.

A domestic analogue of the Japanese drug was created by PA Shablin. It is called "Baikal EM-1" and it is in no way inferior to an expensive imported product in terms of efficiency. At the moment it is used by many domestic gardeners and truck farmers.

Varieties of fertilizer

The preparation "Baikal EM-1" is sold in plastic bottles of 30-40 ml and is not too expensive - 400-500 rub. One such capacity is for the owner of the garden of the average area for a season. Thus, the use of EM technology in the garden area is also a significant saving on fertilizers. With the use of the base preparation can be prepared:

  • Solution EM-1 for watering beds,
  • EM compost,
  • Urgas.

In specialized stores is also sold means EM-5, designed to combat insect pests and diseases of cultivated plants.

EM technology: advantages

The advantages of this new tool include:

  • Natural restoration of soil fertility;
  • Containment of harmful microorganisms;
  • Improvement of soil structure and its purification;
  • Acceleration of root formation of plants and growth of green mass.

Working solution

Ogorniki often use fertilizer EM-1 for watering beds. The solution in this case is prepared as follows:

  • 40 ml (bottle) of the concentrate "Baikal EM-1" is bred in 4 liters of boiled warm (non-chlorinated) water.
  • Add 8 spoons of molasses, honey or jam to the solution. The filled container should be under the string. Contact with air can damage bacteria.
  • The can is tightly closed with a lid and put in a warm place for about 5-7 days.

The resulting solution of the EM-1 preparation is stored at a temperature of no higher than 40 degrees. He will be fit for a year. Do not allow the sun to penetrate the liquid saturated with bacteria.

How to use EM-1 solution?

To water the soil on a bucket of water, take a spoon (10 ml) of the prepared infusion. The use of EM technology in the garden area in this case allows to increase the yield by 2-3 times. The frequency of use of the solution depends on the state of the soil in a particular area. Usually, plants are watered about once a week.

EM farming technology: composting

With the help of the preparation "Baikal EM-1", you can absolutely any type of organic material. Usually compost is made from crushed leaves and grass. The prepared green mass is pre-mixed thoroughly. Next, make a solution of the following composition:

  • 10 liters of water;
  • 100 ml of the concentrate "Baikal EM-1";
  • 100 ml of molasses.

Under the compost, dig a hole 0.5 m deep. The mass is poured layer by layer and rammed. After the pit is filled to the very top, it is covered with a film and sprinkled with earth. Ready compost will be about a week or two.

How to use compost?

The technology of EM must be applied correctly. The prepared fermented mass is usually applied to the soil pointwise. At a distance of about 30-40 cm from the trunks of fruit and berry crops dig small pits and pour in them 1-1.5 kg of compost. For a better development of bacteria, the mass is moistened.

In the basal zone, compost EM can not be made. Seeds with carrots, beets, onions and garlic are best shed with a "bolt" made from it. For this, the fermented mass in an amount of 1 kg is kneaded in a bucket of water. The resulting solution is infused for a couple of hours. Further it is filtered and diluted with water in a proportion of 1:10.

Tomatoes, cucumbers, aubergines and zucchini, as well as fruit and berry crops, usually fertilize pointwise. For this, compost is laid out by piles at a distance from the stems and sprinkled with earth. Then the garden is carefully spilled.

Preparation of Urgas

The use of EM technology using this fertilizer is considered the most effective. Urgas is prepared from household food waste. In this case, the finished mass is very diverse and contains the maximum amount of substances useful for plants. Fermented urgas at home with the use of a special starter. The latter is done on its own as follows:

  • Pass through the meat grinder 1 kg of food waste.
  • Squeeze out the resulting stuffing of excess liquid.
  • Dry the mass by spreading it evenly on a piece of paper.
  • Spray on the stuffing 50 ml of the solution of the concentrate "Baikal EM-1" (1 tbsp per 1 l).
  • Stir the treated waste and add it to a cellophane bag.
  • Squeeze the air.
  • Tightly tie the bag.
  • After a week, the mass is dried and rubbed.

Keep the leaven in a dry, dark place. Urgas itself with its use is prepared as follows:

  • At the bottom of the bucket is laid lattice.
  • Put it in a plastic bag for debris with holes made at the bottom.
  • Household waste, accumulated for the day, laid a layer of 2-3 cm, rammed and sprinkled with two tablespoons of leaven.
  • Cover the mass with the edges of the bag, squeeze the air and put the load on top.
  • The next day, another layer is laid, and so on.

The liquid that accumulates at the bottom of the bucket is drained every 2-3 days. Over the winter, you can prepare a bag of ursas. Keep it in a cool place (you can put it on the balcony). Garden and garden, the soil on which will be fertilized with urgasoy, will certainly please their owners with high yields of all crops without exception. In spring, the resulting mixture, saturated with bacteria and nutrients, is simply added to the beds.

EM technology allows you to obtain excellent yields without the use of any chemicals. After a few years of using fertilizers with microorganisms, the land on the countryside is completely cleared of harmful substances. The garden and garden become the most profitable. This explains the huge popularity of the new drug "Baikal EM-1."
