Tula region: attractions and places of interest

The Tula region is located in the center of the East European Plain. It was formed in 1937. The Kulikovo battle, which laid the foundation for the formation of the sights of the present-day Tula region, is of course the most important for the region. Kulikovo Field, the Tula Kremlin are preserved historical monuments, allowing tourists to experience the atmosphere of that time. Everybody has heard that the Tula region has interesting and significant sights.

To get acquainted with all monuments of architecture and art for a short excursion you are unlikely to succeed. But to try the famous gingerbread and tea from the samovar is required by every tourist. Sights of Tula and Tula region can be listed for a very long time. But the leading places in the attendance of tourists are the Kulikovo Field, the Tula Kremlin and the only exotarium in Russia. One of the tasks set by the Tula region is to restore the sights and give them an original look. Kulikovo field is a landmark museum-reserve, which every Russian must visit. For over 10 years, work has been underway to restore and reconstruct it. Specialists try to restore the landscape of the historical battlefield as accurately as possible, return the forests and fields.

Sights of the Tula region take their roots from the distant past. In 1503, Prince John Vasilievich took Tula to his domain, and the city became the property of the Muscovite state. In order to make the road to Moscow safe, the ruler ordered to lay an oak fortress in Tula. Seven years later, the construction of a stone city inside this fortress began, following the model of the Kremlin of the capital.

The Tula Kremlin became a shelter for False Dimitry, the boyars came here to swear an impostor for fidelity. He was called "city in the city". It was inhabited almost the entire population. The historic Tula region has been creating its Kremlin's attractions for a long time. The Great Kremlin Street, the first of all in Tula, was also in here.

The Tula Kremlin consists of nine towers. Originally they looked like a chess rook. The Spassky Tower warned the inhabitants of the impending alarm. At that time a bell was placed on it, and powder stocks were stored under it. Odoyevskaya Tower opened the gates on the road to Odoev. Nikitskaya had a torture chamber in which she was tortured. Ivanovskaya tower led to the city garden. It also had an underground passage leading to the river. The nugget is located closer to the meat line. The tower of the Pyatnitsky Gate kept weapons and provisions for a siege. The water gate passed through the procession for the Waterfall. On the territory of the Tula Kremlin there are two cathedrals. One of them has become a museum of weapons.

It has Tula region attractions and exotic character, striking guests. Here is the largest collection of unique animals and snakes, frogs and toads, lizards and turtles. In exotarium you can observe unknown to science specimens. This attraction will not leave any visitor indifferent.
