Electric pencil sharpeners - office assistants
Before they came up with a sharpener, the pencils were sharpened with a knife. The new invention greatly simplified this task. With its advent, the process has become more secure and convenient.
Variations on the theme
Sharpeners have all kinds of shapes and colors. What only manufacturers and designers do not use to attract attention to their product. But their main difference is the type of mechanism. Today, there are three options: simple or manual (the main assortment of the office market), a mechanical and electric sharpener.
Work and look great
Electric pencil sharpeners have made life in the office, some homes and schools much easier when it comes to sharpening pencils. The work can be done in a much shorter time. They work from the network, batteries and even through the USB port. Their undoubted advantage is the ability to sharpen a pencil of almost any diameter.
From the history…
The first device for sharpening pencils was patented by the French mathematician Bernard Lassimon in 1828 (French patent No. 2444). And it was not until 1917 that electric pencil sharpeners first appeared in offices. American writer David Reese even wrote a book "Proust from a sharpener", its meaning is concluded in the arguments how to make a sharpening of business pencils. The whole chapter in the book is devoted to wall-mounted electric sharpeners. It turns out that there were some in American school classes.
Choosing a Sharpener
For a child, hand-made construction is perfect. It is safe, often has a bright children's design. For the office, of course, electric pencil sharpeners are preferable.
When buying, be sure to pay attention to the blade. It should be durable and high-quality, the best material is high-carbon steel. Poor-quality blades are short-lived. The availability of a special chip capacity is an important detail. The absence of a waste container creates certain inconveniences when used. Electrical sharpeners should also pay attention to the possibility of overheating and noise during operation. Some models publish rather unpleasant loud sounds, which is unacceptable in the office. Trust only the best manufacturers. And then the sharpener will not just be a trinket on the desktop, but a good helper.
