Ducklings: growing and grooming

Duck is a highly productive bird and not too demanding in care. Therefore, many gardeners and gardeners grow it. Of course, in order to obtain an excellent result, when breeding this poultry it is necessary to observe some important rules.

Feeding

Ducklings, the cultivation of which has its own characteristics and nuances, are usually bred either on a tribe or on meat. Feeding them in the first days of life is very similar to feeding chickens at the same age. You can give crushed yolk and various kinds of poultry. Feeds of animal origin begin to feed on about the tenth day. Usually it is fish or bone meal. Sometimes you can give young animals and fresh fish. From the second week in the diet, boiled potatoes as well as greens are added.

Ducklings, the cultivation of which is not particularly difficult, should receive food in special troughs. Some poultry farmers use pallets or trays for this purpose. This is permissible, but undesirable. The fact is that the ducklings will climb in them and trample the fodder. As for drinkers, they should be vacuum. Usually they are a bottle turned over a saucer.

It is best to install the drinkers away from the feeders. Otherwise, ducklings, the cultivation of which has such a feature that in the first week of their life they are fed six times a day, and starting from the second - four times, they will run after each squirming to the water bowl, simultaneously washing off the remains of the feed from the beak. As soon as the young will turn a month, you can go to three - four meals a day.

Ducklings, the cultivation of which was produced with the feeding of dry feed mixes, as well as with mesocarp, grow healthy and strong. If possible, it is necessary to organize a paddock. Ducklings are not allowed to enter the water until the fluff changes to a feather. This is the case if the young is grown without a duck. If the female herself has hatched eggs and educates the toddlers, the thermoregulation becomes much faster in them. Therefore, they can begin to swim with it without harm for themselves on the fifth day of their life.

Temperature conditions

As for the temperature regime, in the first week the temperature of the air near the floor in the shed should not be less than 28 and more than 30 degrees. Starting with the second it can be reduced to 22 degrees, and from the third - to 16 degrees. Monthly ducklings, care for which in this regard is also extremely simple, but requires the fulfillment of all the conditions specified here, without much harm to yourself can withstand a temperature drop and to 8 degrees.

Cultivation of ducklings for meat and for the tribe

When grown for meat and for the young, the young are fed exactly the same. If everything is done right and the owners will pay enough attention to their bird in this plan, they will be able to score ducks already in 2 - 3 months. During this period they have very high-calorie and tasty meat. The most important thing is to have time to do it before molting. Otherwise, plucking the pen will be very difficult, since there will be hemp. On the tribe, the most developed young animals are selected at the age of six months.

The most common breeds

Most often in the household plots of Russians you can see campbells, Indian runners, Peking and musk ducks. All these varieties are endurance and unpretentious. Care for young growth of these species can be carried out according to the method described above. Only the cultivation of musk ducklings has some peculiarities. The fact is that in the way of life and anatomical features this species is something in between the duck and the goose themselves.
