Dominguez Alejandro is a playmaker from Argentina

In modern football, very few players remain true to their club (or any one club at all) for very long. Everyone is looking for new challenges, and there's nothing to worry about. Fans of Russian football, most likely, know such a football player as Dominguez Alejandro. This is an Argentine playmaker who, during his career, managed to change many clubs, playing in Russia - for "Rubin" and "CSKA". If you did not find him in Russian clubs, then you can read a brief biography of a player like Alejandro Domínguez (Alejandro Damian Domínguez is his full name).

Carier start

He started his career Dominguez Alejandro in the Argentine club "Quilmes", which in 1999 (at the age of 18) signed his first professional contract. On a professional level, Alejandro spent just twenty-five matches with the team for two years. During this time, he already considered the talent, and the young playmaker moved to a larger Argentinean club - River Plate. Such a transfer has already said that the player is waiting for a great future. Dominguez Alejandro quickly got used to the new club, but he had to leave his native lands and master Europe.

Career development at River Plate

Naturally, everything has its time, but for now it is worth talking about the three years that played in the best club of Argentina playmaker Dominguez Alejandro. Pictures of the rising star immediately appeared in all Latin American sports publications, but the passions quickly subsided. It turned out that Dominguez is still not a new genius, and he played very little in River Plate - in three seasons the midfielder played less than thirty matches. Fortunately, it was at this very moment, in 2004, that the interest in Russia appeared to the playmaker - the Kazan club "Rubin" wanted to see Dominguez in his ranks. "River Plate", which received Alejandro for free, was happy to sell the player for a half million euros. That's how footballer Dominguez Alejandro got to Europe. His biography as a football player, of course, does not end there - many changes awaited him ahead of him.

Playing in Russia

So, in 2004, when Dominguez was 23, he was in Russia and became a player of the Kazan "Rubin" - here he was a real star. Alejandro became the player of the base and started distributing assists and scoring goals with incredible zeal. For three years (just over sixty games) Dominguez scored 21 goals and gave slightly less than twenty assists. Naturally, such a result did not go unnoticed, and in 2007, the best Russian club Zenit became interested in the Argentinean football player, who gladly laid out seven million euros for the 26-year-old player.

However, everything was not as rosy as everyone would have liked - Dominguez, of course, got a place at the heart of Zenit, where he played for two seasons, but during this time he did not show a share of what he showed in Rubin, Goal only seven times and issuing 12 assists. Zenit did not like this situation, and the 28-year-old returned to Rubin, who paid just over half of what he received in 2007. And this is exactly the year Dominguez has risen from the level of the average player to the real star - he became one of the main creators of the success of "Rubin", thanks to which in winter 2010 the 29-year-old player was tempted by the offer of the Spanish "Valencia".

Fall in the "Valencia"

Nobody can say what would have happened if Dominguez stayed in the Rubin, but in Valencia his career went downhill. For a year and a half Dominguez played thirty matches, in which he scored only one goal and gave five assists. Naturally, the club management is not satisfied, and in 2011, a 30-year-old Argentinian went on a one-year lease at home, at River Plate.

Return to Argentina

It would seem that the conditions were created ideal, but the time of Dominguez, apparently, has already passed. Yes, he got a place in the starting line-up of River Plate, but he did not show the stellar game he had in Ruby. Therefore, when the year of rent expired, the Argentine club did not offer a full-fledged contract to Alejandro, but it was made by the Spanish club "Rayo Vallecano". Naturally, no one began to offer a long-term agreement to a 31-year-old player - the contract was only for a year, and this year Dominguez worked for the glory. But not as good as the leadership of the club, so again Alejandro was left without a club, so he found his second home - Olympiakos.

Greek Adventure

What did you hear the last about such a football player as Dominguez Alejandro? Where does this playmaker play? He is already 35 years old, but he still did not finish his career. The fact is that in 2013, when "Rayo Vallecano" did not extend the contract with the Argentine, he moved to the Greek championship, where his new club was Olympiakos. There he still plays - in three seasons he spent 108 matches in the field, in which he scored 36 goals and gave 29 assists. The Greeks never regretted the attraction of an experienced Argentine, who still had a year before the end of the contract.

Trophies

Dominguez has never been called to the national team of Argentina, but at the club level he collected a lot of trophies. He twice won the Russian championship - once with Zenit, another with Rubin, and also managed to get to Zenit at the most glorious moment in the history of the club. He recorded in his account in 2008 the Russian Cup, the UEFA Cup and the UEFA Super Cup. Moreover, in each of the three seasons that Dominguez held in Olympiakos, this club became the national champion, and once - and the winner of the Greek Cup.
