Diffuse mastopathy

Mastopathy - proliferation of breast tissue, which has a benign character. Today, this is the most common disease with which women are turning to a mammalogist. The mammary gland is a part of glandular tissue, which during lactation is responsible for the production of milk, and some of the connective fibers. If there is an imbalance of hormones, these tissues begin to grow. New formations that have emerged from the glands are called adenoma, and from the connective tissue - fibroma.

Diffuse mastopathy is the very first stage of the disease, characterized by the formation of small, unformed nodules.

Causes

At present, specialists began to hold the opinion that there are many factors that provoke the development of the disease. For example, they can be attributed to the presence of multiple abortions and the lack of birth. Do not forget about the notion of a genetic predisposition, which, unfortunately, inherits such diseases as diffuse mastopathy. Also, the risk of its development is present in those women who are constantly exposed to stress, in the presence of chronic diseases of the uterus and its appendages. However, it is generally accepted that diffuse mastopathy is a consequence of a disturbance in the balance of hormones.

Symptoms

The main symptoms of mastopathy include breast engorgement, which is accompanied by pain. As a rule, its strengthening occurs before menstruation. Also diffuse mastopathy is manifested by discharge from the chest, which have a brown or dirty green color. When performing palpation, the doctor can detect small granularity, rough lobulation and weighting of the mammary glands. As a rule, pain and discharge from the chest occur periodically, they can intensify, decrease or even stop. After a while, painful sensations almost disappear, but the seals inside the breast are localized in several or one part of the breast. It is worth noting that the increase in formations occurs in the premenstrual period, and the decrease or disappearance on the first day of the cycle.

Treatment of diffuse mastopathy

Usually, for this type of disease, conservative treatment is carried out, which involves taking non-hormonal (vitamins, soothing, anti-inflammatory, non-steroids, homeopathic preparations) and hormonal preparations. The latter are appointed to adjust the hormonal background. Such drugs include gestagens ("Utrozhestan", "Dyufaston", etc.), oral contraceptives ("Zhanin"), inhibitors of prolactin. Not very often, but nevertheless there is a need for the use of antiestrogens ("Fareston" and "Tamoxifen") and androgens ("Methyltesterone").

If the diffuse mastopathy has acquired a nodular form, then its treatment is possible only surgically. The operation is performed under general or local anesthesia. It takes no more than 30-40 minutes. If the operation is successful, the patient is discharged on the same day. Removal of postoperative sutures is done in a week.
