Adonis flowers (photo varieties can be seen below) are annual or perennial herbaceous plants from the large family Lyutikovye. It is believed that they received their name on behalf of the Greek god Adonis, who was killed by a boar on a hunt, and this beautiful flower grew out of his blood. Although there is another opinion that the plant was named after the Assyrian god Adon.

Adonis flowers come from Eurasia (they are very well behaved in areas with a temperate climate). Today this plant is listed in the Red Book. In addition to decoration, adonis has healing properties. Among perennials most often choose Amur adonis. His homeland is the Korean Peninsula, Japan, the Far East and northeast China. Amur adonis does not grow more than 12 cm during flowering, golden-yellow flowers in diameter reach 5 cm, the entire flowering period lasts no less than 2 weeks. Adonis fluffy in natural conditions is growing in Kazakhstan and Siberia. He prefers the steppe plains, he likes to grow near rocks and rocks. Adonis summer is a representative of annuals that lives in Central Asia, the Caucasus, the southern regions of European Russia and Western Siberia. It reaches a height of 50 cm, flowers are small (diameter 2-3 cm) red. Flowering lasts from June to August.

Adonis flowers is a beautiful early-flowering plant that prefers fertile loose soils in an open area, although it can also grow in a semi-shade. It should be noted that this flower grows rather slowly and is very sensitive to transplantation. Soil around it is desirable to regularly loosen and moisturize. You can multiply it by seeds and by dividing the bush. However, experienced flower growers are not advised to resort to division until the plant reaches the age of five. After planting (in the first year) blossom adonis will be weak, and already from the second year the plant will please owners with abundant flowering. Usually adonis flowers are used in group plantings, they also look spectacular among shrubs. It is best to plant them near the tracks or on rocky slides, giving preference to the western and eastern sides.
