If segmented neutrophils are lowered or elevated

If in the blood neutrophils segmented are reduced - it is always a symptom of development in the human body of any serious disease.

Neutrophil is a variety of leukocytes of granular, shaped blood element. He, unlike the erythrocyte and platelet, which are not cells, is a true highly specialized blood cell. The nucleus of the neutrophil is segmented, from which such a granular white blood cell is still called segmented. This nuclear segmentation helps the neutrophil to migrate through the tissues. There are three to five neutrophil segments. Between themselves they are connected by thin crosspieces, and in the female body is still observed with an electrogram of chromatin sexual, or a drum stick. Such heterochromatin is spiraling, as in the mature cell of synthetic processes it is not visible. In addition to the segmented neutrophil, there are immature neutrophils: young and stabnocular.

Reducing the number of leukocytes to a level of 2-3 * 109 / l indicates the presence of an infection in the human body. These can be infections like influenza, paratyphoid B and A, rubella, typhoid fever, smallpox, measles, hepatitis, viral, polio, typhus, parotitis epidemic, malaria, visceral leishmaniasis, ornithosis and others. If the segmented neutrophils are reduced to a level of 1 * 109 / L and thrombocytopenia and anemic signs develop, these figures indicate acute leukemia, a deficiency of folic acid or vitamin B12, metastases in the bone marrow, and aplastic anemia. The level of leukocytes in the blood decreases and with such diseases as thyrotoxicosis, diabetes mellitus, cholecystitis chronic, hypothyroidism, anaphylactic shock, duodenal ulcer or stomach ulcer, neurosis, collapse and others. Even if a person has simply increased (and significantly) physical exertion, he is in an excited state (emotional, psychological), there has been hypothermia or pain syndrome has manifested, in the blood there may be neutrophils segmented lowered.

When neutrophils segmented are reduced in a child, this should alert the doctor. It is possible that the child's body is undergoing inflammatory process, developing a latent form of any dangerous disease.

The neutrophil, like any granulocyte, has granules specific, but they are smaller. These granules contain special substances that contribute to the success of phagocytosis in the destruction of bacterial walls. Therefore, it is so important that the level of neutrophils keep at a normal level, without going down and not rising. If the doctor, having received the results of the blood test, sees that the segmented neutrophils are elevated or lowered, he again sends the patient for a second analysis. When the second sequential analysis confirms the results of the first one, the patient should be referred to the hematologist for a consultation.

When the level of neutrophils in the segmented blood increases in the blood, neutrophilia develops. What diseases are characterized by such an increase in white blood cells? For intoxication, acute infectious disease, malignant neoplasm, that is for those in which microbes are introduced into the human body, foreign substances accumulate, the products of cell decay. These can be infections, such as mycosis, bacterial or viral infection, as well as rick-ketsiosis, spirochetosis, tick-borne encephalitis, and others. It is possible to increase neutrophils in the blood of a person with the following inflammatory processes: gout, rheumatism, myositis, rheumatoid arthritis, ischemic necrosis, tissue damage, pancreatitis and many others. If a person has uremia, hepatic cell necrosis, cancer, eclampsia, blood diseases, neutrophil levels may also increase.

Neutrophils perform two functions in our body: bactericidal and phagocytic. Increasing or decreasing their number in the blood testifies that they are successfully coping with the performance of these functions.
