'Miramistin': instructions for use

Many people know the diseases of the throat and respiratory tract, especially in the autumn and spring periods. In most cases, doctor therapists prescribe Miramistin for irrigation of the throat. Its instruction provides a wide range of applications due to antiviral, antiseptic and bactericidal effects. Simply put, it destroys the membranes of bacteria and thereby leads to its death.

It is produced in the form of a spray or a solution. Tasteless transparent liquid. Use the "Miramistin" instruction in the following cases:

- with wound wounds (often found in obstetric and surgical practice);

- with deep and superficial burns;

- with inflammation of the female genital organs;

- with fungal lesions of mucous membranes and skin;

- with genital herpes, syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, trichomoniasis and other diseases that are transmitted sexually;

- with genyantritis, laryngitis, acute and chronic otitis media and tonsillitis;

- with chronic and acute urethritis, urethroprostatitis of a nonspecific and specific nature;

- with stomatitis, periodontitis, as well as hygiene of removable dentures.

The scope of the drug is quite wide, so to some extent it can even be called universal. Many prefer the Miramistin spray. Its composition is no different from the composition of the solution and includes benzyldimethyl-3-myristoylamino-propyl ammonium chloride monohydrate, or, more simply, miramistin. In both cases, there is a concentration equal to 0.01%.

The dosage of Miramistin is recommended by the following scheme:

1) As prevention of diseases transmitted after sexual intercourse - externally, for the treatment of genital organs, pubis and inner thighs. Before using, you must hold the toilet of the genitals and hands. The solution is injected into the opening of the urinary canal (men - up to 3 ml, women - up to one and a half ml, in the vagina - up to 10 ml). It is necessary to delay for a couple of minutes a Miramistin solution. The instruction recommends not urinating for 2 hours after treatment. The drug is considered effective if the sexual act was committed no later than 2 hours ago.

2) Purulent burns and wounds are treated by applying gauze dressings pre-moistened with a solution.

3) To avoid infection in the area of postpartum trauma in the vagina, tampons are injected, which are moistened in 50 ml of the solution. The tampon is held for 2 hours, the duration of the procedure can be up to 7 days.

4) In the treatment of chronic and acute urethritis, the drug "Miramistin" is injected into the urinary canal 5 ml each, up to 3 times a day. Duration of treatment is 5-7 days, provided complex treatment.

There are no special contraindications to the application, unless the patient has a sensitivity to the drug component. Do not exclude side reactions, they manifest as an allergic reaction, there may be a burning sensation in the field of application. But worry about this is not worth it, since the burning sensation disappears in 10-15 minutes, it is also not worth to cancel the drug.

As for lactating and pregnant women, Miramistin is not contraindicated for them, since there is almost no resorption. Treatment with this drug also does not prohibit the management of motor vehicles.

Cases of overdose are not fixed.

It should be noted that with parallel administration with antibiotic drugs, the resistance of microorganisms to "Miramistin" is reduced.
