"Dashing nineties": description, history and interesting facts

The times of youth are always remembered with nostalgia. Dashing nineties were a difficult time in the life of the country, but today many people miss them. Perhaps this is due to the fact that then the republics of the Soviet Union only gained independence. It seemed that all the old faded into oblivion, and ahead of all a beautiful future awaits.

If we ask contemporaries what the "dashing nineties" mean, many will say that they feel the infinity of possibilities and forces for striving for them. This is a period of real "social teleportation," when ordinary guys from the sleeping areas became rich, but it was very risky: a huge number of young people were killed in gang warfare. But the risk was justified: those who managed to survive became very respectable people. It's no wonder that part of the population is still nostalgic for those times.

The phrase "dashing nineties"

Strangely enough, this notion appeared only recently, at the beginning of the so-called "zero". The coming to power of Putin marked the end of Yeltsin's freedom and the onset of the present order. Over time, the state has strengthened, and even gradually growing. Coupons for food are a thing of the past, as are Soviet-era queues, and empty store shelves have been replaced by an abundance of modern supermarkets. Dashing nineties can be perceived negatively or positively, but they were necessary for the country to be reborn after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Hardly anything could have been different. After all, not just the state collapsed, the whole ideology was destroyed. And the people can not create, assimilate and adopt new rules in one day.

Chronicle of Significant Events

Russia declared independence on June 12, 1990. The confrontation between the two presidents began: one - Gorbachev - elected the Congress of People's Deputies, the second - Yeltsin - the people. The culmination was the August putsch. Dashing nineties began. The crime was completely free, because all the bans were lifted. The old rules were abolished, and the new rules were not introduced or settled in the public consciousness. The country was overwhelmed by the intellectual and sexual revolution. However, economically, Russia has sunk to the level of primitive societies. Instead of a salary, many were given food, and people had to change one product to another, building cunning chains involving sometimes even a dozen individuals. Money has depreciated so much that most citizens have become millionaires.

Towards independence

You can not talk about "dashing nineties" without mentioning the historical context. The first significant event is the "tobacco revolt" in Sverdlovsk, which occurred on August 6, 1990. Hundreds of people, indignant at the lack of tobacco in the shops of their city, stopped the movement of trams in the center. June 12, 1991, the people elect Boris Yeltsin as President of the Russian Federation. Begin the criminal showdown. A week later, an attempt at a coup d'état was taking place in the USSR Because of this, a committee on the state of emergency is set up in Moscow , which was to manage the country during the transition period. However, it lasted only four days. In December 1991, "center" (one of the criminal groups) open a casino in Russia. Soon Mikhail Gorbachev, the first and last president of the USSR, adds his powers "for reasons of principle". December 26, 1991 adopted a declaration on the termination of the existence of the USSR in connection with the formation of the CIS.

Independent Russia

Right after the New Year, on January 2, 1991, the country is liberalizing prices. With the products immediately it became bad. Prices soared, but wages remained the same. Since October 1, 1992, the population began to issue privatization vouchers for their housing. While foreign passports were issued only with the permission of the regional administration. In the summer of 1993, the Government House in Yekaterinburg was fired from a grenade launcher, in the autumn the troops began an assault in Moscow. Six years later Yeltsin resigned his powers ahead of schedule, and Vladimir Putin came to power for the first time.

Order or freedom?

Dashing nineties are racket and brotherhood, shine and poverty, elite prostitutes and sorcerers on TV, the law of the dry and merchants. Only 20 years have passed, and the former Soviet republics have changed almost beyond recognition. This was not a time for social elevators, but rather for teleportation. Simple guys, yesterday's schoolchildren, became bandits, then bankers, and sometimes deputies. But these are the ones who survived.

Opinions

At that time, business was not built at all as it is now. Then it never occurred to anyone to go to college for a "crust." The first thing was to buy a gun. If the weapons did not pull back the back pocket of jeans, then with a beginner businessman, no one would have to talk. The gun helped in conversations with dull interlocutors. If the guy was lucky, and he was not killed at the initial stage, he could quickly buy a jeep. The opportunities for earning seemed endless. Money came and went very easily. Someone burned out, and the more fortunate brought out the accumulated, or rather, looted abroad, and then became oligarchs and engaged in quite legitimate businesses.

In state structures, the situation was much worse. Employees were constantly detained by salary. And this is during a period of insane inflation. Often they paid products that later had to be exchanged in the markets. It was at this time that corruption blossomed in the state structures. If the guys went to the "brothers", then the girls were put into confusion. They were also often killed. But some of them managed to earn a "piece of bread with caviar" for themselves and their families.

Representatives of the intellectual elite during this period often became unemployed. They were ashamed to go to the market and trade, as most people did, hoping at least somehow to make money. Many people tried to go abroad by any means. During this period, another stage of the "brain drain" occurred.

Experience and habits

Dashing nineties have defined the whole life of a generation. They formed a whole set of ideas and habits for those who were then young. And often they still now, after twenty years, still determine their lives. These people rarely trust the system. Often they consider any initiative of the state with suspicion. Too often they were deceived by the government. This generation with great difficulty trusts the banks their hard earned money. They are more likely to transfer them into dollars, or better - they will be taken abroad. To postpone money to them in general is very difficult, because during inflation they literally melted before our eyes. Those who have experienced the dashing 1990s are afraid to complain to various bodies. In those days, the bandits were in charge of everything, so the common man had nothing to do and tried to achieve the fulfillment of the letter of the law. Although the youth of the nineties itself does not like to adhere to any rules and restrictions. But their advantage is that they are not afraid of any difficulties. After all, they were able to survive in the dashing nineties, which means that any crisis is tempered and outlasted. But can that situation happen again?

Dashing nineties: heirs

It seemed that with the coming to power of Putin this period of time in the history of Russia has ended forever. The country was gradually getting out of poverty and unemployment, and the mafia was almost forgotten. However, after the global financial crisis, the notorious stability never returned. And many began to think about whether the dashing 90's will not return. But can organized crime appear by itself, as it is commonly believed? It is from the answer to this question that the forecast of the future of modern Russia depends. Although, if you do not go into details, then for the emergence of crime you need two elements: the need for a large-scale redistribution of property and the need to preserve democracy as a government course. However, it is unlikely that the "freeman" of the ninetieth will repeat itself.
