Clematis flower - the most popular ornamental climbing liana

The clematis flower (pictured below) refers to the representatives of the climbing vine and is the most popular ornamental plant. He can reach more than 3 meters in just one season, but for this he should be properly taken care of. Clematis blossoms abundantly, brightly and, most importantly, for a long time. The whole plant is covered with buds, which are represented by a wide range of colors. And if you combine two or three varieties of different shades in one planting, you will get a spectacular hedge, a partition and any other form of gardening.

Clematis flowers are small-flowered and large-flowered. When creating compositions, you need to know that the first blooms earlier - from the end of June to August. And the second abundant blossom from July to September. In addition to a grassy vine with flexible shoots and a woody stalk, there are also shrub forms of clematis, which grow to 1.5 m in height. Small-flowered varieties have flowers 2-5 cm in size, and in large-flowered varieties they reach 15 cm. Color petals can be yellow, white, cherry, pink, purple, raspberry or blue.

If you plan to use a clematis flower as a decorative home decoration, then plant the plant some distance from the wall. The fact is that the water draining from the roof can damage the root collar, and the liana will simply wither. It is desirable that the distance between the plant and the wall of the house or a stone fence is not less than 20 cm. So in hot weather you will protect the flower from overheating, which it can get from a too hot construction.

If you have purchased varieties that, during last year's shoots, form flowers and blossom in early summer, then they can be planted both at the southern walls, and at the eastern or western walls. In the event that the variety blooms later, then it is necessary to plant only from the sunny southern side. The Clematis flower is planted in the spring. At this time, his shoots are ready to go into growth. The soil must be fertile, well drained, loose. Wells are prepared 50x50 cm, sprouts should be planted 7 cm deeper than before. A deeper location can at best slow down the growth of the creeper, and at worst the plant will die. Remember that the shoots of the flower should be completely illuminated by the sun, so choose sheltered from the wind and bright places.

In the formation of special care is not required. We only need to make sure that the shoots do not intertwine with each other, thin and weak shoots should be removed, and strong ones should be separated from each other at some distance. Clematis flower can grow up to 15 cm in one day, and therefore, do not forget to provide it with support. In frequent watering the plant does not need, but it should be abundant. In general, you just need to make sure that there is always loose and damp soil around the creeper. In hot days, an adult plant requires up to 50 liters of water. Just never direct a jet of water to the center of the bush, it can cause a disease like radical decay.

In order to keep the clematis flower in winter, it is necessary to perform the following works:

- Cut off shoots that grew this year, leaving 2-3 knots from the ground;

- cover the remains of shoots with dry peat or humus and cover with a wooden box;

- On top of the box fill with sawdust, peat or dry leaves, the layer should be at least 40 cm;

- cover everything with polyethylene, but the bottom should remain uncovered, so that the plant is ventilated;

- If there are last year's shoots, they are also cut off, but leave up to 15 knots;

- lay lapnik, and on it creased clematis shoots in the rings, again put lapnik and a layer of leaves in 30 cm;
