Aronia blackberry loves fertile soil with a weak acid-alkaline environment. For it unfavorable high groundwater , dry slopes and hollows. It is there where the snow accumulates more, the chokeberry most protected. Planting and care should therefore be carried out in places where there is a lot of light and moisture.

How to plant seedlings?

After determining the place, you can start directly landing. It is recommended to plant aronia in autumn. For this, dig a hole up to half a meter in width, length and depth. Mix the earth with humus, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. Pour most of this mixture back into the pit. Plant the plant and pour the remains of the earth. Pour warm water and cover the ground around the trunk.

How to care?

Landing of aronia is made, now you need to take care of it, so that your shrub quickly took root and began to bear fruit. You need to care for rowan all season, while you need:

  • To carry out top dressing at least three times;

We have already said that the soil must be fertile - this is what black chokeberry likes. Planting (and care) involves fertilizing with nutrient fertilizers. It must be done for the first time in the spring, for this use humus. Before flowering, pour potash fertilizers, and in autumn - phosphate fertilizers. When your ashberry blossoms, it especially needs moisture, so during this period, water it more intensively. In general, chokeberry (the photo is attached) is moisture-loving, so regular watering is needed. When pruning, first of all, remove dry and damaged branches. Crop the young shoots so that the bush is not overgrown. If you annually properly cut your rowan, you can get a rich harvest for 40 years.

Propagation of rowan can be seeds, cuttings, grafting, dividing the bush. It is easiest to propagate independently by the last method. To do this, divide the old bush, short cut it and transplant. Cuttings are harvested in autumn or spring.
