The Botanical Garden in Minsk is the leading scientific center in the field of plant introduction and ecology, physiology and molecular biology. In it there are more than ten thousand various plants: both decorative, and economic. Its official name is the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. He exists for eighty-two years, for all the time he has been constantly expanding the boundaries and list of the plants represented. The Botanical Garden in Minsk in 1932 occupied a territory of more than ninety hectares, and now it is about one hundred and fifty three hectares. It is located in a pine forest. Visitors always celebrate a healthy atmosphere in this place.

Twenty eight years after the foundation of the garden, the center was given the status of a research institute of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR.

The Botanical Garden in Minsk offers visitors to look at plants from different parts of the planet. Presented tropical and subtropical crops more than two thousand species. This is bamboo and palm trees, oranges and agave, eucalyptus and a bottle of Madagascar, cypresses and evergreen jasmines. Many of these plants are placed in greenhouses. This approach allows the garden not to close in the winter. The greenhouse works for visitors since 2007. For seven years now, unusual and rare cultures have pleased everyone with their own kind.

Also in the garden there are also collections of flowers familiar to the residents of the capital. In the garden are derived new species of dahlias and lilies. Especially many varieties of tulips (500) and pions (300). The workers take care of the plants most carefully, carry out numerous studies.

Future plans

Every year in the botanical garden in Minsk reconstruction works are carried out. Modern greenhouses have already been built, the old ones are always under repair. The administration of the natural center wants to replace the irrigation system of the garden. Also completely change the structure of the tracks and build more greenhouses. Visitors really liked the idea of creating sites of individual countries, the administration plans to develop several new mini-territories of European countries.

In the Minsk botanical garden there is an exposition greenhouse, it opened seven years ago. For a long time it filled, covers an area of more than 1200 square meters. The room is divided into separate zones, each has its own temperature regime and is intended for different plants.

Rich fund

At present, the main task of the Central Botanical Garden of Minsk is to preserve all the richness of the represented nature. This fund has been accumulating for many years. The garden is being renovated, which will last several more years.

In the center of nature, clean lakes that have not been cleaned since the 1960s. The garden administration wants to plant new shrubs and trees. After all, plants already live here since the opening of the center and the postwar period.
