Categories of recruits. The distinction between the concepts "limited in scope" and "suitable with insignificant restrictions"

All citizens subject to compulsory recruitment for military service must undergo a medical examination, the purpose of which is to identify possible contraindications to its carrying. There are only five standard categories of validity, denoted by the first uppercase letters of the Russian alphabet (A, B, C, D and D respectively). We will tell about them in more detail, paying special attention to the differences between the concepts "limited-fit" and "good with insignificant restrictions".

The category "A" includes conscripts who do not have any contraindications to the passage of military service. These are absolutely healthy young people subject to compulsory recruitment to all sorts of troops, including the Airborne Forces, border troops and special forces. Category "B" ("fit with minor restrictions") implies the presence of temporary contraindications to the service. These include temporary disorders due to acute illnesses, recent surgery, a period of remission, etc. With the full restoration of the body, young people are subject to a repeated appeal to all troops, with the exception of the above.

Category "B" ("limited fit") differs from category "B" by the presence of more serious diseases, not implying an early recovery of the body. As a rule, the persons assigned to it are enrolled in the reserve and are not subjected to a call for service in peacetime. The category "limited in scope" includes diseases such as tuberculosis, epilepsy, syphilis, CNS disorders, spinal cord or brain injury, glaucoma, etc. The presence of the same ailments, but in a more serious or even "neglected" stage, is the reason for assigning the category "D" ("not fit for military service").

We will not disregard the category "G", which provides a temporary postponement from military service (for a period of six months to a year). As a rule, this category is assigned in the presence of any injuries or diseases: bone fracture, obesity, dystrophy, etc. After the expiration of the grace period, the military commissariat will send the summons again.

Unfortunately, few recruits know the above nuances, as a result of which, even after assigning a category, they simply do not understand its meaning. Therefore, knowing about your poor health, you must prepare in advance for the passage of a medical commission. What is needed for this? First and foremost - to thoroughly study the list of diseases that exclude the passage of military service. Then we should compare them with the diagnoses in our own medical record. Further it is necessary to be defined with that on what illness it is necessary to make an emphasis at dialogue with members of a medical board. It will also be good to start about a year before the appeal to visit all kinds of doctors, accompanied by the introduction of relevant information in the map. And, most importantly, it is necessary to go to a medical examination board, armed with all the necessary documents that testify to the existence of contraindications to military service.

In this article, we gave a brief description of the main categories of fitness for military service, and also delineated such subtle concepts as "limited-fit" and "fit with insignificant restrictions". These useful information will allow conscripts to prepare in advance for the passage of a medical commission.
