Rules for the installation of electrical installations

If a believer and a very religious person ask what book, in his opinion, is the most important, he will answer without a shadow of a doubt: "This is the Bible." But did anyone wonder what, in fact, she is? If you mentally discard all the stories contained in it, and try to understand the main idea, it becomes obvious that this is a set of rules and norms of behavior. Also, the consequences of non-compliance with these laws are sometimes described.

The same can be said about the PUE. Rules for the installation of electrical installations are the same Bible, but not for everyone. It is intended only for those people whose profession is connected with electricity. It is not for nothing that teachers, teaching electricians, often repeat that "Rules for the installation of electrical installations" should become a reference book. And this is not surprising. "Rules for the installation of electrical installations" are the Code of Rules, but not for preparing for a new biblical world, but for the proper handling of electrical engineering. Appearing in 1976, the book evolved to the modern seventh edition. And it is caused not by simple updating of a cover or a font, and essential completions, therefore it is recommended to use the latest edition. If in the Soviet Union the rules for the installation of electrical installations were the same for all the republics, now the situation has changed. For example, Ukrainian and Russian PUE may differ. At present, the seventh edition, adopted in 2003, is relevant for Russia. This does not mean that the most "fresh" book is in 2003. Circulations are printed almost every year, so you can easily find both 2009 and 2012, but the basis they have the same - Seventh Edition. Rules for the installation of electrical installations, in fact, are the document that defines the rules and regulations.

Since different electrical installations every year becomes more and more, the PUE indicates which facilities they are suitable for. This book is quite voluminous, since it contains seven chapters. The first is introductory. It gives general rules, explains the terms and definitions.

The second is already practical. Features of the organization and maintenance of conductive lines are described (the term "sewerage" is adopted in the book).

The third chapter is specific. Details of protective devices, as well as automated electrical solutions are described.

The fourth is reserved for substations and switchgears.

In the fifth, rooms for various electric power machines (engines, generators) are described, both ground-based and lifting mechanisms. Features of maintenance of such electrical equipment. This also includes a section of control automation.

The sixth is dedicated to lighting. Cases with external and internal systems are considered. Light types of advertising. The rules of working with automation are described in detail.

And, at last, the seventh, last chapter is allocated for an electric equipment of specialized power installations. This electrical equipment of all types of buildings - household, residential, administrative, as well as club entertainment. The chapter includes requirements for the equipment of fire and explosive areas.

Returning to the analogy with the Bible, the main task of the Electrical Security Council is to ensure the safety of operation of one or another type of electrical equipment.
