Caloric content of green tea for a slim figure

Green tea is one of the most common hot drinks. It is used by about 70% of the population of our planet. The only green competition is black tea.

Do not think that these species are obtained from different plants. The raw materials for obtaining both of these drinks are the tops of annual shoots (flush) of the tea bush - the evergreen plant Thea sinensis (also called Camellia sinensis). The main difference between green tea and black is only in the ways of processing the collected plant material. To obtain green tea leaves are twisted, then pressed and dried. The technology of black tea production also includes stages of withering and fermentation. Varying the depth of fermentation, you can get and kinds of tea, such as yellow, white and red.

Undoubtedly, during fermentation, some tea leaf substances are completely or partially destroyed, while others are modified. Green tea is deprived of this lack: it retains all useful physiologically active compounds and there are no harmful volatile chemicals, and the caloricity of green tea is reduced by a factor of tens.

In China, 4,000 years ago, green tea was used to treat many diseases. It has been observed that it contributes to rapid healing in colds, gastrointestinal and skin diseases, and the rapid release of toxins is affected by the caloric value of green tea.

Since then, thanks to numerous studies, the chemical composition of tea has been studied. Accumulated rich material, confirming the beneficial effect of green tea on the body. It has been established that useful properties are due to the catechins, vitamins, amino acids, pectins, saponins, saccharides, and mineral substances that enter it.

Tart taste of tea is given by catechins. Green tea contains up to 12 of them. The chemical composition of catechins are derivatives of polyphenols and have hemostatic, anti-inflammatory, bactericidal, antioxidant properties. The antioxidant properties of epigallocatechin-3-gallate, for example, are 25 to 100 times stronger than in the complex of vitamins C and E. Catechins improve digestion, strengthen the walls of blood vessels, promote the excretion of heavy metals, cholesterol, and eliminate excess platelets. The concentration of catechins in green tea is 8 to 15 times higher than in black tea.

Alkaloids of green tea (caffeine, theobromine, theophylline, adein) dilate the blood vessels of the brain. They tone up the nervous system, reduce fatigue, eliminate the headache. Being in the catechin-related state, the alkaloids of tea have a less dramatic stimulating effect than the alkaloids contained in coffee.

The content of amino acids in 1g of green tea is 0.1-10mg. The presence of theanine is especially important. Teanin gives tea a special, sweet taste. The more the content of this amino acid, the higher the value of tea. Tehanine not only in itself has a relaxing effect on the body, but also contributes to the synthesis of dopamine - the "happiness hormone". Recent studies have shown that theanine protects brain neurons from damaging effects, and also possesses anticarcinogenic properties.

Green tea replenishes the lack of many vitamins (A, B1, B2, B3, C, R, K, E) and minerals (K, Ca, P, Mg, Fe, Na, trace elements) in the body.

The calorie content of green tea per 100 grams without sugar is extremely low - about 1 kcal.

The effectiveness of green tea is proven in the following diseases:

• high blood pressure,

• malignant tumors,

• diabetes,

• obesity,

• liver disease,

• diseases of the genitourinary system,

• Enterocolitis,

• ARI,

• Immunodeficiency,

• glaucoma,

• allergies.

Yes, green calorie tea is small. However, with such diseases as hypotension, tachycardia, insomnia, peptic ulcer, as well as during pregnancy, breastfeeding, despite the caloricity of green tea, its use should be excluded or reduced. You can not drink green tea on an empty stomach, combine it with alcohol, drink tablets.
