Biography of Gogol - one of the most mysterious writers

Everyone knows that this mysterious Russian writer of Ukrainian origin was born in 1809 in the village of Velikie Sorochintsy (Poltava province, Mirgorodsky district). It is also not a secret that his parents were landowners. But here in the genealogy of the writer, few researchers went deep. But it is very interesting. Gogol's biography shows that the child's attitude was formed under the influence of the father and mother. Their stories also made an indelible impression on him. Maria Ivanovna Kosyarovskaya was from a noble family. But the father was from hereditary priests. True, already the grandfather of the writer, whose name was Athanasius Demjanovich, left the spiritual field and enlisted in the office of the hetman. He, in fact, added to his surname - Yanovsky - Gogol's prefix, which "made him" with the glorious colonel of the 17th century Eustachius.

Childhood

Father's stories about Cossack ancestors instilled in young Nikolai a love for Ukrainian history. But even more than the memories of Vasily Afanasievich, the very area where he lived influenced the writer's personality formation . Biography Gogol tells that he spent his childhood in the family estate Vasilievka, which is located in close proximity to Dikanka. In Ukraine there are villages, of which the surrounding inhabitants say that there are wizards and witches living there. After completing his studies at the gymnasium in 1828, Nikolai left for the capital, St. Petersburg, in the hope that now he will have a bright future ahead of him. But there he was in for a cruel disappointment. He could not get a job for the service, the first tests of the pen caused derogatory criticism. Gogol's biography defines this period in the writer's life as realistic. He works as a petty official in the department of allotments. Gray, routine life proceeds as if in parallel with the creative searches of the writer. He attends the lessons of the Academy of Arts, and after the success of the story, "Basavryuk" gets acquainted with Pushkin, Zhukovsky, Delvig.

Gogol's Biography and Emigration

The theme of the "little man", the criticism of the Russian bureaucracy, grotesque and satire - all this was embodied in the cycle of Petersburg novels, the comedy "The Inspector General", as well as the world-famous poem "Dead Souls". However, Ukraine did not leave the writer's heart. He, in addition to "Evening on the Farm", writes a historical story "Taras Bulba" and horror "Viy". After the reactionary persecution of the Inspector, the writer leaves Russia and leaves first for Switzerland, then for France and Italy. Biography Gogol gives us to understand that somewhere in the second half of 1840 the writer's work gave an unexpected roll towards fanaticism, mysticism and praise of autocracy. The writer returns to Russia and writes a series of publications that alienated his former friends. In 1852, on the verge of a spiritual breakdown, the writer burns the second volume of Dead Souls. A few days later, on February 21, Gogol passed away.
