Collector ("Marvel") - a character who, thanks to immortality, has been around for about five billion years. He is the Elder of the universe and has lived alienated ever since his wife died. Once another Elder - Grandmaster, helped him to return his wife, but she did not get accustomed, so she died again. As a result, the Collector ("Marvel", photo below) resigned himself to his loneliness and began to look for a suitable occupation. And he found it. He liked to collect rare things, as well as interesting inhabitants of the universe. And there were reasons for that.

The fact is that Tanelir Tivan had a vision that someday the universe would disappear. Even the elders will be lost, and all will be caused by the cosmic villain Thanos. Hence his hobby. True, the collection of rare forms of life often brought him trouble, because many did not want to become his artifacts at all.

Hunting for the Avengers

Eventually, the place on the huge ship was over, and Tivan "Collector" ("Marvel") began to look for other vaults for his hobby. He had to buy a planet, then another, and soon in his warehouses were stored rare specimens collected from the surfaces of hundreds of different planets.

When he got to Earth, his attention was attracted by the Avengers - a team of powerful superheroes. Inspired by their exploits, he immediately wanted to replenish their collection. But he managed to capture only some of them, and then for a little while.

For example, he caught Osu, Beetle and some other Avengers. They were going to use them to catch the Hulk. But it was a bad idea. As a result, the green mutant escaped, freeing many other prisoners.

Zoo of Tiwan

Whatever it was, contact with the earthers still provided the Collector with certain opportunities. He managed to build a huge underground zoo in Canada. There were such exhibits as the alien Fin Fang Foom, monster Droom, winged dragon Grogg, intelligent tree Groot and other creatures. He liked all these unique creatures. Perhaps that's why he was so drawn to the Earth. The only problem is that he often left his zoo unattended.

Once his underground storehouse discovered a creature from the underworld - the Mole-Man. He released all the monsters, so that they would rise to the surface and make a mess, because the Mole had long felt hatred for all of humanity. Fortunately, the half-blind man's plan was not executed, as the Hulk, the Giant Man (Hank Pym) and the Fantastic Four quickly calmed the monsters.

Team "Brothers"

As time passed, Tivan's thrust to the earthly inhabitants only grew. In desperation, the Collector ("Marvel") decides on the terrible act - destroy the planet in order to calmly take back everything he needs. To do this, he decided to use the "Brothers" - a deadly team created by an alien race of bacteria. After all, there is nowhere else to do - to arrange powerful escape for the powerful aliens, so that they do all the dirty work.

The "brothers" attacked the Earth, where they were met by the Avengers. But after long and large-scale battles, the bacteria realized that they had been manipulated all this time. Therefore, they turn against Tiwan and defeat him.

Trap for Thor

Once on Earth, serious weather changes began to occur. And the thing is that the living planet Ego flew past, which was created by a certain Stranger. Wishing to find out what was going on, Thor went to the Elder, but the Collector ("Marvel") accepted him hostilely, and a small battle ensued between them. Tivan had to stop the fight, because he was worried about his collections. True, he did not drive away the god of thunder, but showed him his exhibits, among which was Alter Ego - the twin of the planet Ego, also created by the Stranger for the purpose of experiment.

The Torah did not like that Tanelir Tivan kept this powerful creature locked up. He swears to release the prisoner, but the Collector ("Marvel") has already unraveled his plan and with the help of an elemental called Zephyr lured Tor into a trap. It is sent to a special storehouse, intended for particularly intractable copies. Only it turned out that Zephyr had long been familiar with the Asgard God, so she helps him escape, and he frees Alter Ego. Learning about the betrayal of the assistant, Tiwan is going to send her to the Black Hole, but she has time to hide.

Abilities

Like any Elder of the universe, the Collector has certain abilities:

• Immortality. A long-standing deal with Death condemned Tanelir to eternal life. He is not sick, his body can not be hurt, even lost limbs he can restore. Unless, of course, do not atomize it on atoms, as it was done by a cyborg named Korvac.
• Gift of foresight. Yes, he can see the future. This is how he could foresee the threat in the face of the mutant Thanos.
• Increased performance. Collector ("Marvel") has an incredible supply of strength, endurance and agility. But what about, because he is the Elder of the universe.
• The use of space energy. This ability helps him to change growth and appearance, as well as perform energy attacks.
• Increased intelligence. Over a long life, the Collector received a huge amount of knowledge, so he is a specialist in many fields.
• Combat technologies. At the disposal of Tanelir there are many offensive subjects: lasers, cannon, bombs, combat suits, potions and all kinds of weapons. And how else can he protect his favorite collections?

Collector ("Marvel"): film

The collector appears in the movie "Thor 2: The Kingdom of Darkness", where his role was played by Benicio Del Toro. There, Lady Seth asks him to take the Ether from Asgard, so that he is not kept together by Tisseract.

And in the fantastic action film "Guardians of the Galaxy" Tanelir Tiwan first receives the Infinity Stone, but then loses one of his museums.
