Applicator labels. Applicator of labels semiautomatic

Many major well-known manufacturers of trading and control equipment, among other things, produce devices for gluing a variety of labels. These devices differ in performance, in the number of functions performed.

What is a label applicator for?

There is no person who does not come across labels on the goods. Bar codes, product composition, prices, company logo and other information are placed on such labels. Labels are glued to goods not only at enterprises that produce finished products, but also in trade. Especially where food is packed before selling. And you can imagine how much time it would take in large grocery centers to stick labels manually. To accelerate this process, and were invented applicators of self-adhesive labels.

Classification of devices

The label applicator is a device for applying roll-on self-adhesive labels with information printed on them on the packaging of goods, both industrial and food.

By the principle of action applicators are divided into manual, automatic and semi-automatic devices.

Manual or mechanical applicators work after pressing the trigger. They are used in warehouses of goods and in stores.

Automatic applicators are installed in large enterprises for the production or packaging of food products on the conveyor after packaging devices and can perform several functions.

In semiautomatic devices, the operator supplies the goods for marking, and the label is separated by an engine.

Handheld devices

The hand applicator of labels is a device of pistol type. The principle of its operation is simple: the label roll is first refueled, then each time the trigger is pressed, the label is pulled out, separated from the base, and pasted onto the packaging in the correct operator place with a soft rubber spike roller. The use of a mechanical device improves the performance of sticking labels several times compared to performing this operation manually.

Conventional handheld devices are designed for a roll of self-adhesive labels of a certain width, but in some models there are sensors that allow you to tune the applicator on labels of various shapes. It can be not only rectangular and square labels, but also round, and oval.

Manual devices can be mechanical, such as Japanese TOWA applicators, or electromechanical ones like Italian Dynamic.

If in the mechanical applicator the operator needs to press the entire palm with the palm of a large lever, then in the electromechanical it is enough to press a button with one finger to activate the mechanism for separating the label from the substrate and gluing it with a soft rubber roller to the surface. Devices like Dynamic work much faster, but require charging the battery after eight hours of operation.

TOWA Label Applicator

The mechanical applicator gun is easy to operate. The tape drive mechanism is operated by pressing the lever, the substrate (wax base) of the label on the applicator tip, called the "beak", bends and flakes so that a small portion of the sticker remains in the device, not allowing it to fall out. Finally, the label is glued to the surface of the package when a studded rubber roller passes over it.

The length of the pull of one sticker is regulated by a special mechanical sensor that reacts to the difference in the height of the label with the substrate and only the substrate.

The sensor stops the broach when the edge of the next label rests on its tip.

With the TOWA mechanical applicator, labels from 20 to 60 mm in length and from 20 to 100 mm in width can be applied. True, the width of the machine is not adjustable, and for rolls of different widths, individual applicators are required that are labeled TOWA AP 65-30 (roll width 30 mm), TOWA AP 65-60 (60 mm), TOWA AP 65-100 (100 mm) . The diameter of the roll of labels is the same for all models and is 110 mm.

In the design of the applicator there is a strap, which is put on the hand during intensive work. This helps to protect the device from falls.

Automatic devices

Automatic applicators are divided into groups according to the degree of automation of the process and the number of functions performed. Automatic label applicator can be integrated into the line and only apply ready-made labels to the products, such as the Brady dispenser. This device automatically separates the self-adhesive label from the substrate and glues it onto the packaging. The design provides a photoelectric sensor of labels. The dispenser can work with small labels measuring 6.35 × 6.35 mm, which makes it irreplaceable where compactness is the main factor.

There are also automatic industrial applicators, which are entire complexes for weighing, packaging products, printing and labeling. An example is an automatic line of CAS or DIGI companies.

Automatic applicator is used in enterprises where it is necessary to mark large quantities of products. As a rule, in such a device, the speed of all other parameters is automatically synchronized with the changed index, which makes it easy to change the labeled products. In addition, the automatic label applicator prints in an arbitrary format, can work with fragile objects, marks objects of any geometric shape.

The principle of operation of a semiautomatic device

There are also more compact devices for fast application of self-adhesive labels on production. Applicator labels semi-automatic - a desktop device with power from the household network, is used for applying all types of labels. When a small packaging container, such as a bottle with sauce, is placed under the pressure roller, the operator presses the foot on the pedal. At the same time, the bottle (container) starts to spin and the label separates from the substrate. After the gluing operation is completed, the applicator is automatically turned off. In this way, one or two labels are glued on the packaging.

To work with the device do not need special knowledge and serious skills. On the front panel of the applicator there is a quite clear scheme of the roll installation, the speed of the sticker extension is simply regulated, the sensitivity of the label sensor is high. The roll is charged to the device, the power is turned on - the applicator is ready for operation.

Types of semi-automatic applicators

For semi-automatic pasting of ready-made labels, the American series of applicators PRIMERA AP is intended. These devices are suitable for marking different cylinders and cones (bottles, cans, tubes, canisters, etc.). The speed of the applicator reaches 1200 self-adhesive labels per hour. The maximum and minimum diameters of rolls, their width, label sizes differ slightly for different models, but most importantly - the devices are made of durable materials, professionally designed and certified.

It is possible to find similar devices by the manufacturers of Russia and Lithuania.

When marking perishable products, a semi-automatic label applicator is used that not only pastes a label on a round glass or polymer container, but simultaneously applies variable data to it, for example, the serial number, the release date.

The first stage of the operation of such a device does not differ from the pasting of ready-made labels. The dating site is switched on after the automatic stopping of the labeling mechanism. While the data is being printed on the next label, the operator sets another capacity in the device.

The market for devices and devices for applying self-adhesive labels is quite diverse. Both small trading companies and hypermarkets can find equipment for marking their products with the least labor and high quality.
