Anorexia Symptoms

Psychopathological disorders contribute to the development of anorexia. With this disease, the appetite persists, but the person completely refuses food. The patient perceives himself in a distorted form. He is dissatisfied with his appearance and therefore seeks to lose weight. Despite the fact that weight often corresponds to age standards, the patient considers himself full or not slender. Anorexia is more a mental illness that contributes to the development of internal diseases .

Neurogenic anorexia is caused by several factors. Most often - these are psychological aspects, inconsistency with their inner world, low self-esteem. Disease accompanies fear of gaining weight, so the patient seeks to get rid of food by any means. For example, simply refuses, motivating by the fact that he is full, or feeds animals, puts on a neighbor's plate and the like.

Symptoms of anorexia are physical, mental and behavioral. Changes occur not only in the appearance of the patient, but also in his inner world.

Mental signs of anorexia, related to food behavior, primarily manifested in an obsessive desire to lose weight, often undefined. There is a panic fear of gaining extra pounds or fatfobia. There are obsessions with regard to food, that is obsession with calculating calories, a fanatical desire to lose weight and concentrating all your interests around it. Characteristic is also too zealous chewing food or swallowing it without chewing; Unwillingness to attend events that are associated with meals, as well as poor health after eating.

Other behavioral signs of anorexia are manifested in an effort to overload your body physically and discomfort, frustration and even apathy, if it did not. Baggy clothes that hide the "full" body, also indicates changes in the human psyche. Unreasonable asceticism, desire for solitude and aggressive assertion of one's interests in terms of figure signal about the developing disease.

Physiological signs of anorexia are noticeable to the naked eye. The body loses a third of its normal weight. Constant dizziness, weakness, fainting, as well as a weak circulation of blood in the body indicate violations. In addition, sexual activity decreases, while in women it sometimes comes to anovulation and amenorrhea. There are soft fuzzy hair on the body and there is a constant feeling of cold.

Anorexia in children is most often caused by fashionable tendencies, professional motives or hereditary predisposition. Much less often anorectics are boys, but this also happens.

Children, especially teenagers, are driven by the desire to be recognized as a society. Sometimes, children neglect parents 'advice and doctors' recommendations and lead themselves to exhaustion.

In half of all cases, anorectics can be returned to a normal lifestyle. One third of patients have permanent health disorders, as evidenced by diseases of the internal organs and various kinds of disorders. In other cases, patients simply can not be saved. They either commit suicide, or their body is so exhausted that it can not be restored.

Anorexia, the signs of which are still weakly expressed, can be treated. The success of therapy largely depends on the time of detection of the problem. Vital metabolic processes of the body to break is very simple. It is enough just to stop eating. But the restoration of proper functioning will take years. In addition, numerous injuries of internal organs with already developed disease, reduced immunity - this is another "trace" of anorexia, which remains with the patient forever.
