In the summer of 1971, the city executive committee of Arkhangelsk decided to build a children's park in the city. For him was allocated a plot of land with an area of 1.45 hectares. Initially, it was planned to install on this territory several traditional attractions, plant many greenery, make sandboxes. But in the process of construction it was decided to build a real amusement park. The "Amusing Court" (Arkhangelsk) got its name much later.

How it all began?

The construction was completed in late July 1972. In the new park there were children's cars, non-motorized carousels, bicycles, tennis tables, swings for kids. Its official opening became a colorful and memorable ceremony. Only in the first two days it was visited by more than fifteen thousand adults and small residents of the city.

The main attention of visitors of the park was riveted to the Ferris wheel, from which beautiful views of the Northern Dvina and the whole city open. No less success at that time enjoyed and the cinema "Polet". It is located in the cabin of a real aircraft. Every half hour here they demonstrated one of the series of the most popular cartoon film "Well, wait!" In the park were placed "Russian swing", carousels "Figured" and "Chain", the original "Raketoplan", a sports field and several other attractions.

Children's park "Poteshny Dvor": history of the name

The park changed the name several times. Until 1996 it was referred to as the "Center of entertainment and leisure", then until 2000 was laconically called "Children's Park", since 2003 - "Children's Park of Culture". Only in January 2008 he received his current name - the children's park "Poteshny Dvor" (Arkhangelsk). It should be noted that this name was invented by the townspeople.

This name and the main hero of the park - the cat Hostetz - became his highlight. Famous today in the city four-legged adorns on the logo of the institution, the rules of the park, in various advertisements. And the children really like to be photographed with a huge growth doll Gostinets, which constantly walks through the park and gives visitors positive emotions.

Park today

In 2006, a new manager came to the park - V.S. Khotenovsky. From that moment the "Poteshny Dvor" (Arkhangelsk) began to develop actively. Old obsolete attractions began to give way to new, beautiful and modern designs. In 2012, "Poteshny Dvor" won in the annual competition "Crystal Wheel" among the parks with a visit from 100 to 250 thousand people a year.

In 2013 the park "Poteshny Dvor" (Arkhangelsk) became the owner of its own book "The Adventures of the Cat of the Inn", the main character of which was the famous purr.

In 2015, the park received the international Golden Pony Awards. The management pays much attention to the planting of greenery and its improvement. Nowadays almost all the paths and avenues are lined with paving stones, beautiful lawns and flower beds have appeared, bushes have been planted, attractions have beautiful forged fences.

Children from boarding schools and orphanages ride on attractions for free. In summer, various competitions, interesting cultural events are held for visitors. The administration strives to make the visit to the park for adults and young guests not only a ride on attractions, but also give guests joy, positive emotions and a lively holiday feeling.

Attractions

"Super Twist"

The amusement park "Poteshny Dvor" in Arkhangelsk has a number of simple rules that the administration asks to observe:
