Alignment of walls with plasterboard without a frame. How to fix the drywall to the wall

Today, a variety of materials are used to level the walls. Some prefer to use plaster solutions. Other owners of their own homes use drywall (photo finishing is presented in the article). Further we will understand in nuances of work.

Advantages of GKL

Gypsum cardboard is considered by many specialists a universal coating. And this is quite understandable. With its help, you can quickly and accurately align the corners of the walls. At the same time, it will not take much time to work. Another advantage of GCR is the ability to apply it on virtually any surface. So, for example, it is often sewed drywall on wooden walls, brick and concrete surfaces.

Mounting options

The most common method is the skeleton method. As elements of the crate, metal profiles or wooden bars are used. The disadvantage of this option is the reduction of the useful space of the room. However, in this case, heat and waterproofing can be laid between the supporting structure and the cladding. Aligning walls with plasterboard without a frame is used relatively infrequently. Meanwhile, this option of finishing allows you to save space in the room. In addition, the time to work will be spent less than in the case of a crate. However, the leveling of walls with plasterboard without a frame has disadvantages as well. In this case, the room will not be additionally insulated, since there simply will not be room for laying insulation. However, such frameless fixing method passes without noise and dust. After work of garbage it is much less, than in case of preliminary arrangement of a lathing.

The first stage of work

Before you begin the leveling of walls with plasterboard without a frame, you need to prepare the surface. It should not be subject to negative effects of moisture and frost. On the basis of a normal importance, the installation of GCR is carried out with mixtures such as "Fugenfüller" or "Perlix". Before you paste the drywall to the wall, the concrete is treated with a special primer "Betonokontakt". This mixture will significantly improve the adhesion of the surface. The bases that absorb moisture are treated with a "Tiefengrund" or "Rikombrigrun" primer. These compounds will prevent the penetration of the adhesive into the surface.

Choose an option

There are several ways to attach a drywall to a wall without using a crate. Let's consider and more in detail:

• At elevations over 4 mm, the sheets are fixed to the plaster filler "Funenfueller". It is applied directly to the gypsum board on all perimeter by a thin layer.

• For drops up to 20 mm, the Perlix mix is used to fix the sheets. It is applied in small groups at a distance of 30-35 cm.

• With roughnesses up to 40 mm, first glue the gypsum board to the wall. Their width is 10 cm. The sheets for Fugenfüller putty are already fixed .

Progress

It should be remembered that, regardless of how the walls will be leveled with gypsum board - without the frame or with it, the work is done before the flooring. GKL should be installed indoors at a temperature of at least 10 degrees. Before fixing the sheets should be held in the room for at least 2-3 days. A simple drywall is suitable for rooms with moderate humidity and a constant temperature regime. For places such as a bathroom, corridor, kitchen, use moisture-proof sheets. They differ from the usual green surface.

Preparation

Before the drywall is attached to the wall, the condition of the substrate should be assessed. To do this, use the plumb and level. Depending on the condition of the surface, one of the above mounting methods is selected. The ceiling and walls are marked with a plumb line. If the base is damp, it must be thoroughly dried, remove all protruding elements and dirt. Also the surface should be degreased. Then the base is covered with a primer.

Important points

Before you paste the drywall to the wall, the sheets should be tried on and cut. In this case, you should immediately note the holes for the switches and sockets. From the bottom should be a gap of 8-12 mm. During the fastening, if the cracks remain, they can be sealed with silicone.

Stacking sheets with 4 mm differences

Using a notched trowel, put a plaster putty on the wall along the marked perimeter. For greater reliability, 1-2 vertical bars are also made in the center of the rectangle. Next, plasterboard pads are installed along the entire perimeter of the walls. The bottom of the sheet is fixed to the strip. Then, using the level, tapping lightly with a rubber mallet, the drywall is put in place. Many people try to drown the sheet deeper, suggesting the possibility of a hillock appearing on the surface. However, experts do not recommend doing so. Better not regret the glue and apply it more.

Mounting sheets at 4-20 mm swings

In this case, a more reliable "Perlix" mixture is used. Apply glue in small groups. They can be made a trowel. The diameter of the piles should be approximately the same. Their height is not more than 25-30 mm. Further actions are the same as in the previous case. Necessary to install pads around the perimeter. The sheets are fixed on them.

Fixing sheets with 4 cm differences

In this case, experts recommend not to save not only on glue, but also on the drywall itself. As was mentioned above, bands are first fixed. They are glued at a distance not 60, as it is customary to mount the profile, but 40 cm. In this case, the whole structure will become more reliable. After the streaks have been glued, it is necessary to allow them to dry for 2-3 days. Then, using putty, the sheets are fixed onto this frame. At work also it is necessary to use a level and a rubber mallet. Tapping on plasterboard should be very accurate.

Alternative option

This method involves the use of mounting foam in place of the adhesive composition. In addition to it, you will need a drill, wooden plugs and screws with washers (self-tapping screws), foam rubber (thick pieces). As in the previous version, the condition of the surface is preliminary estimated and all necessary preparatory work is carried out.

Fixation of GCR on the mounting foam

A sheet of plasterboard is applied to the wall. In 8-10 sections holes are drilled to the base. Points should be distributed as evenly as possible. Next, the sheet is removed, and in the resulting marks on the wall make holes and clog them with wooden plugs. You can also use plastic inserts. On the sheet gypsum cardboard is glued foam at a distance of 10-12 cm from the holes. During installation, it serves as a regulating spring. Then the sheet is again applied to the wall and fixed with screws (screws and washers). The adjustment of gypsum board to take its necessary position is achieved by loosening or tightening fasteners. This operation is carried out with all sheets. After they are fixed on the base, you should use the drill to make holes near all the screws. Their diameter is 5-7 mm, and the depth is 2-3 cm. Mounting foam will be pumped into these holes . Before filling it is recommended to try with a dosage on any site. In the end, it is desirable to achieve that the foam when leaving the balloon formed a spot of 10-15 cm. If there are outlets or switches, the holes for them are cut out in the drywall before the fastening begins.

The advantages and disadvantages of fixation on the foam

First of all, I must say that this method of fixing gypsum board to the wall is used in case when there is not much time for installation. At the same time, work should be conducted as high as possible. The disadvantage of this method is the impossibility of placing heavy and dimensional objects on the wall.
