Metal gutter systems: we study all the components

Metal drainage systems are made of different materials.

• Galvanized steel is the most economical option. However, it often snows on galvanized metal, so this system either has to be cleaned constantly with a scrap, or arrange heating the roof. In this case, the profitability of such gutters becomes questionable.
• Metal gutter systems made of painted metal. It costs a bit more, needs regular coloring, but gives the house an interesting look. Recently, it is more and more rare.
• Gutter systems are metal, but covered with polymers. Aesthetic, durable, resistant to weather changes. But very noisy: even small drops of rain will create a roar.
• The drainage from copper is considered elite. But such drains and are more expensive, and placed only on the roofs of copper.

Metal drainage systems differ not only in terms of material, but also in the manner of the device. They can be mounted outside or inside the building.

Domestic drains usually settle in regions that can not be proud of a stable or even climate. Sometimes the metal drainage system is equipped on a flat roof in areas with a temperate climate.

External metal gutter systems are more familiar. They consist of:

• Hooks or brackets for attaching the gutter. With their help, the trough is strengthened on the roofing crate or under the cornice. Brackets in their shape and size correspond to the shape and size of the gutter. Otherwise, the water will not drain properly, but the walls will damp.
• Gutters. The task of this component is to collect water from the roof and ensure its further progress. Metal drainage systems assume a semicircular, semi-square or relief shape.
• Corner of the gutter. These elements connect segments of gutters that run along different sides of the house or along the roof of a complex structure.
• Blanking the gutter covering it where the roof ends.
• Connector of gutters. Its purpose is clear: metal drainage systems, like any other, should not let water pass where it is not needed. To seal the gutters, connectors are necessary.
• Funnels of the gutter with a grid. Strengthens in a place where water from the gutter enters the drain pipe. The grid is needed so that the pipe is not clogged with debris.
• The drainpipe is vertical.
• Knee drain. It is with his help that the drain pipe can bypass the protruding architectural elements of the walls and direct the water away from the structure.
• Connecting pipe. Its task is to connect the upper and lower tribes of the drain in order to ensure the normal advancement of the water in the desired direction.
• Clamps, with which metal gutter systems are attached to the walls.
• Plum, which is the tip for the drain pipe. It looks like a knee, but decorated with a pattern.

When choosing the components for installation of the drainage system, care must be taken to ensure that their shapes, sizes and raw material match.
