Alabian-Baltic tunnel: the launch is planned

The automobile Baltic tunnel is located near the metro station "Sokol", proceeding from the project "Bolshaya Leningradka". The length of the tunnel under the project reaches 2015 m, and the closed part of it is about 1544 m. The greatest depth reaches 22.5 m.

In the tunnel there will be six lanes - three in one line and three in the opposite direction. Its full opening is planned by the end of 2013. The cost of its construction is more than 80 billion rubles. After completion of the works, the Alabian-Baltic tunnel will be considered one of the directions of the new highway - the North-Western chord. He will establish a connection between the two regions of Moscow: the North-East and South-West. Chord will connect four districts: ZAO, CAO, NEAD and SZAO.

It is planned that the highway will run along the following streets of Skolkovskoye Highway: Kubinka, Vitebsk, Krylatskaya, Yartsevo, Bozhenka, Lower Mnevniki, Alabyan, People's Militia, Baltic, Academic, Third Nizhne-Likhoborsky passage, and afterwards along the entire length of the Small Ring of the Moscow Railways along the Serebryakov passage. The end will be the Yaroslavl highway near the Severyaninsky overpass. The length of the route will reach 29 kilometers. It is also assumed that the new Alabian-Baltic tunnel will simplify the traffic along the Volokolamsky and Leningrad Highways.

At one of the stages of construction near the Leningrad and Volokolamsk highway near the station "Sokol" are thinking about laying along the Alabian-Baltic tunnel a few more carriageways on its two sides. On the left driveway, it is planned to erect a ground parking lot, which will have 44 places for cars. It is also planned to build a tunnel over the above-ground part, between Leningradsky Prospekt and lateral passage, a turn-out sediment site of 0.14 hectares for public transport.

Builders announced that the construction of the tunnel, during which there were so many organizational and technical problems, will end in about three months. The main disadvantage is that the construction is carried out under the operating line. Work on the Baltic Street took place in close proximity to residential buildings, which required rather non-standard operations. For a long time the builders worked at the underground river Tarakanovka. They faced there with many tributaries and spent a lot of time fighting them. About six months, it was spent to promote construction in the area. On this occasion, to speed up the work, a meeting was held at the site itself.

The government wants to quickly launch a unique Alabian-Baltic tunnel. However, rushing here is useless, as the work must be effective, and often - filigree. The Alabian-Baltic tunnel is under construction for several years. Builders from time to time informed residents about the new terms of launching the tunnel: first they said that it would open in May, then they said that, most likely, in June. As a result, the longest tunnel under Leningradskaya was opened in May in only one direction, and in the other it is planned to open in October 2013.
