General information

The airline "Nordavia" was founded in 2004. The main air transport hub of its basing is the Arkhangelsk airport of Talagi. History

The airline "Nordavia" was formed on the basis of the Aeroflot air force in Arkhangelsk. The squadron was created in 1929 in connection with the opening of an air service between Arkhangelsk and Syktyvkar. And in 1991 it was transformed into a state enterprise "Arkhangelsk Air Lines". However, the new company did not last long. In 2004, it was bought by Aeroflot. Later the name was changed to Aeroflot-Nord.

Until 2008, flights were carried out using the flag and code of Aeroflot. After the plane crash in Perm, it was decided to use its own code and flag. In 2009 the company became known as "Nordavia". In 2011 Aeroflot sold the company to Norilsk Nickel. The cost of the airline was $ 207 million.

In 2016, the Federal Antimonopoly Service gave its official consent to buy the entire stake in Nordavia, the co-owner of the Red Wings airline. Thus, Norilsk Nickel ceased to own the company. In 2016, the company was headed by a new CEO - A. Semenyuk.

Aircraft accidents

For the whole history of the enterprise, there were three air raids.

The first happened in 1994, when the Tu-134 plane landed accidentally without one of the chassis racks in Arkhangelsk. The destruction of the rack began even while taxiing in Moscow's Sheremetyevo. The plug, which covered the rack cavity, flew out and punched the pipelines designed for the chassis release. However, the pipeline, supplying hydraulic fluid for cleaning the chassis, remained unscathed. In the main and emergency pipeline, a leak was formed, so the hydraulic fluid flowed into the atmosphere during the flight. Thanks to the crew of the plane crash was prevented.

The second serious air accident occurred in 2008, when during the landing at the Perm airport the Boeing 737-500 crashed. All passengers of Flight 821 were killed.

The third incident occurred in 2009. The Boeing 737-500, which landed at the Simferopol airport, was seriously damaged by hail. During the landing, the headlights broke, the nose fairing broke through, the fuselage and the details of mechanization were deformed.

In 2016, the aircraft fleet of the company includes 9 aircraft of the same type - "Boeing 737-500". The average period of their operation is just over 24 years. The oldest (26.3 years) has the onboard number VPBRP, and the newest (23.4 years) is VPBKV. Aircraft can accommodate from 108 to 133 passengers. In addition, within the framework of the partnership program with Pskovavia, the An-24 aircraft are operated on short-duration flights.

Despite the fact that the aircraft fleet is relatively old, the aircraft are perfectly serviced. This is noted by the passengers in their reviews. The start and end time of registration at the airport is 2 hours and 40 minutes before the departure of the aircraft, respectively.
