Actor Lev Round: biography, filmography and interesting facts from life

Lion Round in the world of theater and cinema had a reputation as a difficult person with a steep and independent character. Perhaps this was the reason for his decision, unexpected for many, to leave the Soviet Union. To leave at the height of glory. Permanently.

"I was a dissident, but I did not become a dissident" ...

The decision to emigrate matured at a completely inappropriate period for the departure of life: the success of the performances with his participation was roaring throughout the capital, the popularity in the cinema reached the all-Union scale. According to the actor himself, the acquaintances looked at him with bewilderment. But too much was too much. Too intolerable was to be under the hood of "organizations" that "climbed into the soul."

Leo the Round has always been a dissident. But he did not become a dissident. "Because I could not stand the camps," - as the actor confessed to journalists in an interview.

Lion Round: biography

The future actor was born in 1931 in Moscow. His father was a subway worker, and his mother was a musician. The history of his family bears the imprint of time, like many other families who have had the time to live.

Childhood

A small future actor for a long time could not understand why his grandfather's picture shows only one carefully carved head. He asked the mother questions, and she tried to explain to her son somehow why it was impossible for someone to see the epaulettes of the royal officer in the portrait of his grandfather. She could save the portrait of her father only by carving his face.

The atmosphere that reigned in the family, in many ways influenced the formation of the personality of the Lion Round. In March, 53, when the whole country sobbed over the departed leader, the close environment of his parents was differently related to this "loss". The famous artist of that time Zhuravlev, a friend of the family, according to the observations of the little Leo, "just shone". His mood was shared by his father and mother, and their other acquaintances.

His parents were talented, highly intelligent people. Mom was fortunate at the time to learn from the famous Goldenweiser. Father before the war, in order to support his family, worked as an electrician in the face of increased danger - he built the metro station "Dzerzhinskaya", where due to the presence of "quicksands", an increased payment was provided for workers who risked their lives and health every minute. We fell very deeply, we had to work practically under the caisson. But the financial situation of the family was so deplorable that his father was happy with this earnings.

In the atmosphere of such people, Lev Krugly - an actor was formed.

War

His father and three older brothers were killed at the front. His father's relatives lived in Kiev. As Jews, they perished during the Holocaust.

Deprivation

About the post-war time, Lev Krugly recalls the same as many of his peers. First of all, the terrible poverty of the family. Material deprivation of the future artist was not news, but the post-war years were really hungry. All three children in the family were taught modesty in inquiries and expenses. According to the recollections of the future artist, the younger ones were wearing worn out clothes of the elders. The main thing in the suit was neatness and absence of holes.

Leo the Round, the actor: the biography, a role, films. Start

He was fortunate to study at the "Schepkinsky" school near the great Vera Nikolaevna Pashenna. In 1953, Lev went on distribution to the Khabarovsk Territory Theater drama.

The beginning of acting career was remembered for a long time. Then there was a lot of things: success in theater and cinema, becoming a personality and an actor, marriage, a more or less established way of life. But remembering the Khabarovsk period of life (1953-1956), Lev Krugly saw before him a terrible cold room with amenities in the courtyard where he lived together with a former classmate, terrible frosts and pea briquettes, which was part of their daily menu. In order to prepare a thin soup from this briquette, it was necessary to knead it well with fingers to the state of powder and cook it. If there were any, in the soup was added more potatoes and some cheapest sausage. Sometimes in the mornings young artists allowed themselves to buy from a street vendor two wrinkled, slimy pies.

Later, sharing with the journalists memories of his life, Round Lev Borisovich recalled a detail that especially crashed into the memory of an impressionable young man. Once they decided to buy fresh pies. The immense forms of the saleswoman, who had just "fallen out" of the dining room, were dressed in a robe that White could call very conditional. The same cleanliness of the sheet was covered with a huge basket of fragrant hot pies. The saleswoman rummaged for a long time inside the basket, picking and moving pies with meat of indeterminate origin with her thick fingers. Young people for some time had to watch with puzzled how scurrying among the pies her fingers with a peeling manicure and black fringe under the fingernails. The explanation was simple: the woman at all costs wanted to follow the instructions. Under a pile of hot pies she had a fork that she had not yet had time to reach. Having rummaged through questionable purity with her hands in the "commodity", she took out the tool and gave the customers patties, piercing them with a fork, as was required by the instructions.

Moscow

Upon his return, the actor served in Sovremennik. Here he met his love, actress Natalia Enka, who later became his wife.

He was destined to meet with the legendary director A. Efros. This meeting was greatly enriched by the biography of the actor. Round Lev Borisovich, among several other artists, followed the great director first to the Lenin Komsomol Theater (1964), and then to the Theater on Malaya Bronnaya (1967).

The flourishing of skill. Popularity

The flourishing of the skill of the actor Lev Krugly, as well as his popularity are connected with the director A. Efros. In 1965, the play "Marat, Lika and Leonidik", staged on the play "My Poor Marat" by A. Arbuzov, enjoyed in Moscow an extraordinary success. Lev Borisovich played the role of Leonidik in it. And this was the beginning of his fame with the Moscow public.

Cinema

He began acting in film in 1959. The first among his works were roles in the paintings: "Lullaby". "Ahead is a sharp turn", "Noisy day". It was thanks to the work in the cinema that all-Union popularity was received by the artist Lev Krugly, whose filmography includes more than thirty films. Among the most famous: "Fourth." "713th asks for a landing," "Ivan da Marya," "Alive and the Dead."

Emigration at the height of glory

When the actor announced the decision of the family to go abroad, the surrounding people regarded it as insanity. At a banquet at the Malaya Bronnaya Theater, which took place at the end of his farewell performance, his colleagues looked at him with unconcealed surprise. But the decision was already made. Years later, Lev Borisovich explained this decision, which seemed to many suddenly, in different ways. He called the awakened spirit of adventurism, the tendency to vagrancy, inherent in many comedians. He said that the well-known "organizations" that "climb into the soul", trying to control everything, were terribly disgusted. Called their emigration "flight." But this was not the main thing.

About freedom of choice

Not adventurism, in fact, was the main reason that sent the family of the Round on a journey. Then, in 1979, they left for freedom. For true freedom, in all its manifestations. First of all, for freedom to make their own decisions, not dictated by anyone from outside.

For freedom choose thoughts, work, hobbies, addictions, worldview, love. For freedom to realize this opportunity of choice, which distinguishes man from everything on earth.

Towards the unknown

They left their homes, settled life and life and, according to Lev Borisovich, went "to meet the unknown." It was possible to leave the Soviet Union only on an Israeli visa. All those who went out were considered "renegades". Mostly this was done in relation to the Jews.

When the son of the Kruglovs' spouses, Nikita, having received the summons, said at the military registration and enlistment office that the parents submit documents for traveling to Israel, they yelled at him, called him a "Jew" and were expelled. Preparation of documents and all sorts of checks lasted about nine months. Then they were given $ 200, and the Round went to a transfer point to Vienna, after which they were redirected to Paris. They did not have any property - no costumes, no props. Everything had to be left in Moscow. They were three in a foreign land. The fourth was a dog that got sick on the road, and had to spend on his treatment all available money at that time.

In the emigration

The family lived and worked in Paris, in Munich. Lev Borisovich for three years served on the radio "Freedom" as an announcer. His wife, Natalia Vladimirovna, was in the past an actress of Satire Theater, Sovremennik, Stanislavsky, initially engaged in housework, led a children's circle of self-activity in one of the Sunday schools at the Russian church, worked in the newspaper "Russian thought".

In Paris, Lev Borisovich was engaged in teaching, appeared in two films. In addition, Round with his wife traveled the world a lot with the tours of their own theater, created abroad. This theater was destined to survive a quarter of a century, but the former popularity, the one they knew in their homeland, unfortunately, could not be experienced by the actors.

About the relevance

Fears, which from time to time came up in the period of carrying out the decision to leave, were in vain. In emigration, the Russian theater was very popular. During the Iron Curtain, the theaters from the Union were rare guests abroad. The audience wanted to hear Russian from the stage.

The rounds immediately upon their arrival began to be invited to all kinds of performances in Switzerland and Austria. For some time they were free to perform at universities, in Russian societies. At the end of these speeches, the notable ladies put a hat around in a circle - "chic, with ribbons, with flowers." This action later Lev Borisovich called "terribly funny."

Visits to the Motherland

Spouses twice visited Russia. In 1993, at the invitation of the Ministry of Culture, the actors visited St. Petersburg and Moscow with tours. The Soviet audience was offered performances "Poor people", "Marriage", "Meek". The second time they brought a play "In the carriage of the past" (2003).

"The main thing is to remain yourself"

In the last years of Lev Borisovich's life, the spouses lived on a small pension and additional payments from charitable organizations in a municipal four-room apartment. In their home lived mostly emigrants: Arabs, Negroes. At the disposal of the couple was an old car.

According to Lev Borisovich, said during one of the interviews, poverty does not bother them. The main thing for every person, as the couple believed, was "to remain oneself." Lion Round died at the age of 79 in 2010. It happened after a long and serious illness. The actor in Paris was buried in the Russian cemetery of Saint Genevieve de Bois.
