Alain Gyress is a once famous football player, and today - a serious coach. During his long life he achieved considerable achievements, and I would like to tell you about all of them.

Career career: the beginning

Alain Gyress was born on August 2, 1952, in Laguaraan - a small French commune with a population that does not even reach two thousand people.

He has been fond of football since childhood, and started his career to professional success with the club "Bordeaux". He became part of the team from the city of the same name in 1970. Then the "Bordeaux" was going through hard times. The club fought every season for a place in League-1. But in the 80's things went better. Then the club under his coaching leadership took Aimee Jacquet, who headed it until 1989. That's when the team started a period of great achievements. By the way, many of them managed to be achieved thanks to Alain Gyressu. Not without reason, after all, he is the best scorer of "Bordeaux" in the history of the club. He has 179 goals.

By the way, together with "Bordeaux" Alain won the Alps Cup, "bronze" at the French championship in 1981, "silver" in 1983, "gold" - in 1984 and 1985, and also won the French Cup 1986.

In the national team

Alain Gyress is also known for his performances for the national team. His debut in the international arena took place in 1974. It was a game against Poland. Initially, Alain occasionally appeared on the field, but then, when the team took under the direction of Michel Hidalgo, took a strong place at the base. Moreover, Alain Gresses was one of the key figures in the national team. His career went up the hill.

The fact is that Michel formed the so-called "magic square" in the center of the field. And it included the best players of the national team. The four of the best were Gresses, Luis Fernandes, Jean Tigan and Michel Platini. It was thanks to this powerful combination that the team took the fourth place at the World Cup 1982, and the third at the 1986 World Cup. But most importantly - they managed to win the European Championship.

The last match Gyress held in 1986, June 25. Then France played against Germany and after the match lost to the German team. But for 11 years of performances for the national team midfielder recorded on his account 46 meetings and 6 goals.

Alain Gresses decided to continue his club career. His biography is quite rich, and for the last two "gaming" years he managed to write down on his account three titles. By the way, he spent 2 seasons in "Marseilles". With this team Alain won "silver" in the championship of France and the Cup of the country, and also became a semi-finalist of the Cup of Cups.

Coaching activities

Seven years after the end of his career Alain Giess led FC Toulouse. It happened in 1995. For two years he led a team from the city of the same name, after which he was invited to Paris Saint-Germain. However, three months after the contract was signed, he was sacked, as PSG lost to Maccabi in the Cup Winners' Cup. And in general, the beginning of the season was extremely unsuccessful. So, Alain had to return to Toulouse. But not for long - for 9 months.

Then, since 2001, the Frenchman headed the Moroccan football club from Rabat called FAR (Forces Armées Royales). But this team Alain led to success. It was under his leadership that the FAR won the Throne Cup in the 2002/03 season.

Then the Frenchman was invited to lead the Georgian team. He agreed, but, without leading the team to any success before the selection for the European Championships, decided to leave the country, having terminated the contract. So then, for four years, Gyress coached the Gabon national team.

Last years

Alain Giesress is a great footballer, who is still an important person in France. In 2007, he was awarded the Order of the Legion of Honor. More precisely, then he was given the rank. And the ceremony was only five years later, in 2012. Order the former midfielder handed Platini, with whom they together once defended the colors of the team "Bordeaux". Michel is a Knight of the Order of the Legion of Honor since 1985, and an officer - since 1998, so he is allowed this right as a senior in rank. By the way, the ceremony was not quite ordinary. As the venue for her chosen training base FC "Bordeaux".

And finally a couple of words about what Alain Giesess has been doing in recent years. From 2010 to 2012 he coached the national team of Mali. Then two more years was the head of the national team of Senegal. Then again for a year coached the national team of Mali. And now, beginning in 2016, Alain leads the national team of Cameroon. Coaching Frenchman is not going to finish his coaching career, so it remains to follow his successes and achievements of the national team headed by him.
