Why is it important to know the size of the door boxes

Who has ever encountered construction or repair, understands the problem of correctly determining the dimensions of doorways. If in multi-storey apartment houses the sizes of entrance doors are made, as a rule, standard - width of 90 cm, then in private construction entrance groups are not only single but also double - up to 1.5 meters. The size of the door boxes should be chosen in the light of the fact that large items (furniture, household appliances) will be brought into the room through them. Most often, the front door is made with a reinforced box, and recently the preference is given to metal doors.

Dimensions of interior doors are usually dictated by the size of the rooms or corridors into which they exit. If the room is large, a double-leaf door (110 cm opening) can be installed. In small apartments, room doors are more often single-leafed, with a width of 80-90 cm. It is less desirable, since furniture must pass through the opening.

If a person first encountered this problem for himself for the first time, it should be taken into account that the thickness of the door frames is from 7.5 to 11 cm. Having measured the thickness of the wall in which the box will be installed, you can find out if you need a plank.

It is more advisable in this case to purchase a door assembly in the assembly where there is a door leaf already hung with the help of loops on the box, and it remains only to insert it into the opening and correctly fix it.
