Medical indications allow the granting of academic leave to the student only if the loads associated with training are unacceptable and can aggravate the student's state of health . The conclusion on granting the student leave can be issued by the clinical expert commission of the municipal medical institution at the place of residence or by the student polyclinic. In the event that a student is observed at the health center, the certificate is issued by the health facility to which the health center is attached. These certificates, together with the student's application for the need for academic leave, are sent to the educational institution for consideration by the head of the educational institution and serve as the basis for the decision. In case of positive consideration of the submitted documents, the head gives an order to provide the student with the necessary leave.

In other cases, allowing the student to get an academic leave, it is necessary to submit a personal application and a corresponding document to the administration (or the head of the educational institution), which fully confirms the reasons and reasons for obtaining the necessary leave.

In either case, the student's academic leave can not exceed more than twelve calendar months, from the day the positive decision was made by the head of the educational institution and the execution of the order for leave.

Students who are on academic leave for health reasons can be paid a benefit (the so-called compensation payments), the amount of which is approved by the Government Decree.

Students who are commercially trained also have the right to receive benefits, if such cases are reflected in the main contract or an additional agreement.

It often happens that a break in training is necessary for the student for the banal reason of poor progress or absenteeism. In this case, the ideal solution will be academic leave. But it is necessary to prepare all necessary documents in advance, and not during the session or shortly before it. In this case, the head of the educational institution may have suspicions regarding the simulation of the student, and the granting of leave will be denied, even if the right to academic leave will be confirmed by all medical documents.
