Bulgaria

A lot of countries with such shades are located in Europe. For example, the Bulgarian flag - white, red, green are arranged on the same horizontal stripes. Earlier they were supplemented with the image of the state emblem, but in 1991, after the adoption of the new constitution, it was removed from the standard. In addition, the proportions of the flag changed - the ratio of length to width was two to three, and after innovations it became three to five. The bands are arranged in the following order: the upper one is white, the middle one is green, and the lower one is red. The first serves as a symbol of peace and freedom, the second depicts the country's agriculture and forests, and the third tells about the spilled in the struggle for the independence of blood.

Hungary

There is another European country, which has the color of the flag - red, white, green. This is Hungary. The panel is a rectangle with the same aspect ratio as two to three. It is covered by three equal horizontal strips, the choice of shades for which relies on the coat of arms. Another famous flag-tricolor - red, white, green, - belongs to the Mediterranean country, beloved by a multitude of tourists from all over the world. Italy uses as a symbol a cloth with three vertical stripes. According to the official version, green means faith, white is hope, and red is love. The Italian symbol is so popular that most people who see it do not have to wonder - which country? The flag, white, red, green in which are not supplemented by other images or symbols, is used since 1789. Then the standard belonged to the Cisalpine republic. In 1805 it became a kingdom and on the green strip there was a golden Napoleonic eagle, but in 1946 it was again removed from the cloth. There is a funny story. Once in Italy every now and then there were all sorts of manifestos and battles, for which a national symbol was needed. The dressmaker, desperate to find one, just sewed three different pieces of rag together, creating a famous combination.

Lebanon

It is impossible not to mention a very original flag. White, red, green can be used not only in the form of strips. The Lebanese standard with a length-to-width ratio of two to three is made of three horizontal lines, red along the edges and white in the center. On the middle there is a large image of a stylized cedar, made in green. The red color on the panel symbolizes the blood of the Lebanese people shed in the wars, the white depicts the purity of thoughts and the desire for peace, as well as snow on the mountains of Lebanon. Finally, cedar is considered an official symbol and points to the Christian history of the state. The cloth has been used since 1943, when Lebanon gained sovereignty.

Sudan

India

Many mistakenly think that the standard of this Asian state uses all the same classical colors, but in fact Indian is a special flag. White, red, green get in it the original forms. In addition, the standard is complemented by a blue element - a wheel in the center of the cloth, the so-called Dharmachakra, instead of which the spinning wheel was previously depicted. Red color acquires in the Indian version a national color of shades of saffron. White and green are used in classic shades, but there are some subtleties here. Despite the seeming simplicity, the flag can only be made from a certain kind of fabric that has gained popularity with the Indian leader Gandhi. This is homespun cloth, the application of which is regulated by the civil code of the state.

Belarus

Finally, another country, using the original combination of flowers, this time located in the center of Europe. Belarus is distinguished by a cloth with two horizontal stripes, the upper one is red, which is twice as wide as the bottom green. On the side, at the shaft, a white strip is vertically located. It depicts a national ornament, made in red. The width of the flag refers to its length as one to two, and the strip of the pattern on the side occupies one-ninth of the entire panel. The meaning of each of the shades is as follows. The red color symbolizes the victorious battle of the Belarusians under Grunwald, as well as the legendary banners of the Red Army, with which numerous Belarusian partisan brigades collaborated. Green color serves as a symbol of hope, revival and spring, and also points to stunning local fields and forests. Ornament represents an ancient culture, unity and spiritual wealth of local residents. Belarus is the only country in the post-Soviet space that has preserved communist symbols, albeit with minor changes. The BSSR standard also contained an image of a sickle, a hammer and a star, in addition, the ornament was white, and its background was red. The Belarusian flag has its own holiday, celebrated every second Sunday in May.
